Sunday, May 5 2013 - "The Perfect Day..."
On Sunday, May 5, 2013, on the spectacular grounds of Winterthur, we will hold the 35th running of the Point-to-Point races. This annual horse racing event attracts 15,000 regional spectators and has earned the reputation as “the place to be” in Delaware Valley on the first Sunday in May. What began simply as a steeplechase fund-raising equestrian competition has grown into a tradition of unrivaled elegance, family fun, and racing excitement. It is Winterthur’s largest annual fund-raiser.
Located in the rolling hills northwest of Wilmington, Delaware, just 30 miles from the Philadelphia International Airport, Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, houses the world’s foremost collection of American decorative arts from 1640 to 1860. It was formerly the country estate home of Henry Francis du Pont, and is now Delaware’s number one nonprofit cultural attraction. It preserves, interprets, and each year displays this unique heritage for 175,000 visitors from around the world (www.winterthur.org).
