If I could give no stars I would, when my child was diagnosed 7 years ago this place was amazing be aide it was small. Now you no longer are a person but a number, front desk is horrific, in professional and think they actually have medical experience. The wait time is beyond ridiculous, and to actually get an appt within a reasonable time is non existent. Glad I left a year ago, found a incredible endocrinologist who actually cares about her patients. Never looking back. Good luck to you all and best advice I can give is do your research before giving them your business.
Overall a very good experience at the clinic. They have ample free parking space in the garage. The office is very clean and neat and strictly follows the latest Covid-19 protocols.I was checked in quickly and the front desk staff are very warm and welcoming. My only concern was waiting over 30 mins to see my doctorDr.Skwiersky.She is new to the clinic and had just recently joined the NYU langone team.Overall happy with her professionalism and care. However the attending physician Dr.Bhansal was spot on and helped complete the examination and further treatment protocols.NYU Langone is one of the top hospitals on Long Island and in the country and they do stand up to their quality of care and treatments.Overall a very positive and safe experience at the NYU Lanngone Endocrinology & Diabetes Associates.
I am a patient at your facility for 20 or more years. I was a patient when Virginia Ditto met with me and my wife to show me how to load a syringe and inject its For many years. My nurse diabetes specialist was Eileen Eagan. I did great My bloods were perfect with her regimen. For no apparent reason my current nurse decreased the amount of sets for insulin change is now is now forcing me to change every TWO days.nt Therefore I have reuse many pump supplies several times. Perhaps she did not realize that obese people required,That sometimes, need more insulin. Ginny Ditto, who as a very young nurse at the took time from her dinner to go to that corner store, the prvious diabetes center to show me how to load and inject a syringe. I m sure this is not the center she envisioned that she worked so hard to build. What a shame.
Long wait time but the doctor was very thorough in explaining everything and thyroid and took his time when he got to me
While the doctors and nurses are fine, I am very disappointed in the front desk staff's treatment toward me. Before the end of March of this year, cloth masks were no problem. Unfortunately, they were banned for some reason by that time. I came in with a cloth mask that had a clear panel over my mouth. The front desk staff gave me a hard time about my mask, deemed it unacceptable, and forced me to take a surgical mask against my will. I freaked out since this was a huge shock and it made me uncomfortable. I didn't put the surgical mask on. Rather, I put another clear mask over mine but it was a different material and sat at a table, facing the window. I called to file a complaint about the staff forcing me to wear a mask that I didn't want. I followed up a month later... only to learn that the staff are required to give out surgical masks to not wearing them or n95's. I called the endocrinology and diabetes center and stated that the mask I came in with complied with the CDC guidelines. But the woman on the phone firmly stated that they had to give out surgical masks to those not wearing them or n95's. I asked if that was their policy or the state's guidelines. She said that it was NYU Langone's policy and then rudely said, "Goodbye" to me. Not only do I hate the cloth mask ban hopefully, it'll be lifted at some point, but I also hate the front desk staff's customer service skills. Those people have no manners, empathy, politeness, or professionalism. I wish somebody made them take a customer service class, where they'd learn better manners and improve their professionalism. I work in a surgeon's office not too far from there. The front desk staff at the place I work at would never dare talk to a patient that rudely. Even when someone was rude talking on the phone to one of my coworkers, the coworker stayed calm. I wasn't even being rude to the lady who answered the phone at the endocrinology and diabetes center. I was just upset. But how she should have responded when I called about the mask situation was to calmly say why she needed to do it and ask if that answered my question. I almost wanted to stop being an NYU Langone patient. Not just because of their cloth mask ban, but also how I feel that I've been mistreated at times. When I called patient relations, though, I was lucky to get a nicer woman to answer. She politely said that if I haven't found another doctor, and won't have another appointment for a while, then cutting ties was unnecessary. I didn't get a chance to tell her why I wanted to halt being an NYU Langone patient, but I think it's better that I didn't. I am still angry about the front desk staff's attitudes.
The wait is never long actually Ontime. But I do make my appointments months in advance and early am. I will say because it’s so “commercialized” they “ the doctors” are NOT allowed to spend enough time with the patient. Big pharma has them moving Patients like cattle. Sometimes not even Looking at you. And the doctors who have issues with that, are asked to leave or on administrative leave. Otherwise they “the doctors” are thorough and helpful to their patients.
I visit my endocrinologist, Dr. Klek, here in this building. Yesterday I was there and there was some confusion with my appointment time. The 3 ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful and kind. They were very dedicated to helping me out and rectifying the situation and they did. They were extremely patient which goes a long way. You just never know what people are going through and how your personal help can make a difference in their day. I wish I knew their names but I was there at 4pm on Tuesday 4/26 to try to narrow it down. So to those 3 ladies, thank you! Also, Dr. Klek is a great endocrinologist. The best! He is thorough and pays close attention to everything you are saying. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Have always been taken promptly with early morning appts. But today with an 8:20 appt had to wait until 9:05 to see attending MD as I was told only one attending was in today. How can they fall so far behind with their schedule if I have an 8:20 appt? today I found out. I always felt they are thorough and ask many questions about many facets of my health.
Be prepared to wait for a long time. My child has seen Dr Acaccha and Dr Sarita George. Dr Acaccha's wait time is not so bad but Dr Sarita George would mean waiting at least 30 minutes up to 1 hour from your appointment time. If you can find another provider, do so. It's not worth it. The front desk is not helpful at all.
Only if we could give negative stars. I can’t believe this practice would leave a 3 year old child without her insulin. Here I am at 27 having same situations. This practice is horrible. No appointments available. Won’t make availability for you to make an appointment. Front desk is rude and un organized. Had to wait over a week for Nurse Practitioner Jacobs to okay my scripts. Went multiple days without taking my insulin just to find out that Jacobs never approved my scripts. Had to call the emergency hotline for them to approve my scripts in the middle of the snow storm. Emergency doctor said that Nurse Practitioner Jacobs behavior was unexceptionable. Tried reaching out to Nurse Practitioner Jacobs multiple times, never got response. Instead Jacobs had her nurse assistant reach out to me on her behalf. Here I am months from horrible experience and still no communication from Nurse Practitioner Jacobs. Trying to switch to a new endocrinologist and getting denied my refills until I’m seen by the practice. If anyone is looking for a nurse practitioner, stay away from nurse practitioner Jacobs. Jacobs is horrible in communicating with her patients. She shows no compassion or effort for her patients. Jacobs is not fit for her job and has no ability to help her patients. If you ask me half the staff should be fired and Nurse Practitioner Jacobs should loose her license to practice medicine. After reading other reviews and seeing the malpractice, this practice should be shut down! Playing with a child’s health or anyone’s health is unethical and outrageous. How is this medical practice still allowed to practice medicine?
