I accidentally left my digital camera in the back seat of a Lyft car, and even though it was the driver who reported it and I and the Lyft supervisors told him to go to my hotel to drop it off, he kept refusing to do so. After three days I went to the Winthrop police to report my camera as stolen. The officer who took my statement was professional, got every bit of information I could offer, called the Lyft driver to order him to return my camera, and made sure to contact Lyft to get me my property back. He kept me fully informed as the day went by, and when he went off shift the other officers did as well. Within a few hours I was finally able to recover my camera and all my photos and I dropped the larceny charge. The lady officer who was handling my case at the moment was relieved that I got it back, and mentioned that what she said to him must’ve worked. I have no idea what it was, but I’m glad it did work and she was able to drop the charges.
