A locals bar with ageless character. We came right off the Withlacoochee bike trail to this small tavern busy with locals and bikers both pedal and piston. It’s a cash bar, Busch on tap kinda place. The atmosphere is welcoming and the owner works at keeping the place basically in shape. It is a pleasant stop
Super cool little bar. Definitely feels like a regulars type of place, but felt very welcomed when I stopped while just passing through. Jukebox, pool table, and darts, all in good shape. Very cool little patio area as well. The beer was ice coldService: 5/5
Don't quite want to rate this place a 4 but also don't want to rate it a 3. They don't have hard liquor here, so keep that in mind. It's definitely a local's bar. A big upside I will give this place is they have super cheap pricing, so if you are just looking for a place to grab a beer this might be it.
Label it "Best Little Dive Bar for Smokers." Great service and prices and cold beer. Very unique.Service: 5/5
I go here to play pool and darts. They only have one table, but it's not usually too hard to get in on a game. It's a beer and wine only bar, no liquor. It's small but close to where I live.
They people who were running the bar were rude as anyone could be . They were full so we sat at the table waiting for a spot and they came yelling at us that we could only sit and wait if we bought beer well guess what if we left and went outside that's illegal .ask nicely first is all I ask
Lost my gloves there a month ago. I returned to Michigan, then returned to Florida Friday. DEBBIEbartender returned them to me!! Unbelievable
I give it a 5 star because this is everything that "Old Florida" is about. I'm from Miami, Fl so this is not the typical bar we find back at home, and that's a good thing! Riding our bicycles, south on Withlacoochee State Trail, we came across this interesting little bar along the side of the trail with big bold letters, "COLD BEER." There is no way we weren't stopping for a cold one on a hot and humid summer day. A little intimidating as you walk up to the front door and step into a smoky ole' pool room with a wide bar that immediately greets you at the front. Filled with local old timers, smoking on there cigs and catching up with one another, we took a seat next to one of them, feeling we must look way out of town as I assume there aren't many millennials from Miami that choose to visit such an outback place in Florida .Not surprisingly, like the rest of the town, they were very warm and welcoming! We spoke about our lives in the fast paced city and heard about theres in such a quaint little town. The beers were ice cold, and their cold air conditioning made it worth the stop to cool down. Great stop along the Withlacoochee State Trail and overall Floral CIty. Stop by and get to know the locals!
It's nostalgic and rustic. The locals or customers were very very nice. Service is very good, I don't know what kind of food they serve. I wasn't asked if I'd like to see a menu. They do serve alcohol and I don't know about wine. I think their beer could be colder but that's my opinion. . Their bathroom is outside of the bar and could use a little help. Though it's decorated nice. It's a nice stop from A to B. Have a drink, look around and enjoy the moment.
I used to play bass here in 1973-1975 every Fri. & Sat. night with the house band ‘The Ram Rods’ with Jack & June when Smoaky Herb R.I.P. owned The Wishingstone. Gloria Ashwell R.I.P. was the bartender back in those days. Her husband Jim R.I.P. once played bass for The Ram Rods too. The Wishingstone was the hottest night club in the area back then.
