We are one of 7 cultural and resource centers at Oregon State University. We serve as a resource for all students at OSU.
At the Women's Center we are a collective of student leaders that strive to create and foster a brave community working towards equity through intersectional feminism with the end goal of liberation for all. -2016-2017 Student Staff
*LIBRARY*
We have a 1700-volume library that has accumulated over the last 36 years. There are also a number of periodicals, pamphlets, brochures, and other resources available to our visitors. Suggestions for new books and periodicals that we can buy are always welcome!
*COMPUTER RESOURCES*
There is a computer lab available for use by anyone who visits the WC with access to the Internet, email, and word processing. Copies and printing are free up to 5 pages a day.
*FULL SERVICE KITCHEN*
Students are welcome to drop by the WC and use our kitchen to cook their lunch or store food.
*CAMPUS INFORMATION*
The staff at the WC serves as a go-to place for students with questions about campus resources and contacts. Our staff stays up to date with information and loves to connect people with the services they need.
*CRISIS SUPPORT*
Women's Center staff is trained to help people in difficult life situations find the appropriate support they need. This includes survivors of sexual assault, eating disorders, relationship violence, or people questioning their sexuality. We are not counselors, but we are good listeners.
*ACTIVISM*
If there is something that you would like to see changed on campus, in Corvallis, or in the world, you can come to the WC and get help creating an activism project. We can help you plan programs on campus, start letter-writing campaigns, or connect with other organizations that are already working on your particular interests.
*MEETING SPACE*
You can reserve the WC (see the link on our website) for study groups or club meetings. We have a TV, DVD player, VCR, and screen available for use.
*SCHOLARSHIPS*
Finding resources to pay for collage education can be difficult for many students. The Women's Center tries to ease the way with resource notebooks that include various websites with scholarship information, scholarships for women and people of color, and information on how to apply for scholarships.
