Unlike most gynecology offices, we specialize in minimally invasive gynecological laparoscopic and robotic surgery, which avoids a large abdominal incision by using a tiny telescope-like instrument inserted through the belly button. In addition to to specialization in the above procedures, they have developed several laparoscopic surgical procedures including laparoscopic bladder neck suspension and suburethral sling procedure for the treatment of urinary incontinence, laparoscopic paravaginal repair (bladder tack) for cystocele (bladder bulging into vagina), laparoscopic repair of enterocele (small bowel bulging into the vagina), and vaginal vault suspension for vaginal and uterine prolapse (vaginal bulging and dropping of uterus and cervix).
Dr. Furr is one of the most experienced daVinci robotic surgeons in the Chattanooga area performing hysterectomies, oopherectomies, endometriosis resections, and sacrocolpopexies for vaginal prolapse. He also performs surgical procedures for fertility treatment such as tubal reanastomosis and removal of large fibroids.
