I was treated in a VERY odd, and to say the least, unprofessional manner when I contacted Finishing Touch for an estimate regarding refinishing a cedar chest. I sent the photos and a text to the cell number I was given by Dennis. I was given a reply later informing me of the price required to refinish the chest. I replied agreeing to the quote and asking when I might bring the chest by, and how much of a deposit would be required. I later received a phone call from the cell number Dennis gave me to send the photos to. I answered, said "Hello" several times, and no one spoke. I hung up. I later received a text "Laughed at the text I sent originally with the photos inquiring about an estimate." I'm not aware I made a joke at any point during my inquiry. This was WAY too bizarre, and absolutely the wrong way to deal with a potential customer. Maybe this is standard practice for them. My reply was "If you didn't want the job, you could have simply told me. Thanks all the same." I question the validity of these suspiciously glowing reviews. Thankfully, there are a number of other furniture repair/refinishing companies to choose from in this area.
Dennis and the entire crew at Finishing Touch do excellent work. I have seen time and time again where they were able to restore items that I wouldn't have thought could be done for less than a fortune. And it didn't cost a fortune. Dennis and Vicky are a joy to work with.
Dennis is a genuine carpenter. I have brought him my priceless possessions, and he completely restored them back to the way I remember them as when I was a child. I honestly cried. Thank you so much again, for all you have done!
That refinished a desk and cedar chest that belonged to my grandparents - they came out beautiful and were ready when they said it would be. I wish I had more furniture to bring them- great place!
