I was misdiagnosed with Celiac disease when I was actually suffering from a serious eating disorder. Needless to say, the year of being a strict gluten free diet did NOT help my anorexia. Now, a year later, I am pursuing recovery from my ED and eating all the gluten. Would have saved myself a few months in a treatment center and avoided Woodlands in the first place…
This place is really frustrating. The front desk staff is lazy and grumpy. They don’t answer the phone. We can’t leave a voicemail for our doctor if we have an emergency. We went in for a check up and asked why that is and she said the front desk needs to set one up for her. Also we were charged an additional $150 on our bill because we mentioned that our child had poison ivy a few weeks ago and she looked at it for a few seconds. We were told that that’s why we were charged extra because she had to examine it. They need a new staff and leadership and also customer service training.
So I’ve been going to Woodlands for over 10 years. The whole staff is amazing! They are truly caring and accommodating. I’ve had some really weird medical issues. And Dr. Kracht has had the patience and knowledge to help me through them. I’ve dealt with Lymes, Bartonella, tinnitus, a bad spider bite, and long COVID, as well as normal illnesses. The folks at Woodlands have helped me through all of it. Dr. Kracht also uses a combination of traditional and natural treatments, which I really like. It’s nice to have alternatives to big pharma. I highly recommend Woodlands!
We waited 6 months for an appointment, was told they take BCBS they don't because of a QUOTA. WE were turned away with no apology and my husband hasn't been to a doctor in 15 or more years. Back to square one. I wrote a letter about my concerns and NO answer. Email, no answer. I wouldn't take my dog here. Thank you for caring!
I have been on the search for a holistic practice. This is NOT the place to go though!!!! They are rude, unprofessional, and rush you in and out then bill you for a 5minutes visit? My visit resulted in a rushed VERY quick chat with the doctor. NONE of the paperwork that took DAYS to fill out was event acknowledged. THEN I find out I have to pay $350- for a test and another $200 for another allergy test.....oh and then I get ANOTHER bill in the mail for the "visit". A JOKE all the way around. I will find a real practice that spends time with their patients and wants to work with them in finding a solution rather then rush in ad out and ask them hard working single parents to cough up ridiculous amounts of money for testing, I wanted blood work....I HAVE INSURANCE! THAT WAS NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED! DO NOT BOTHER GOING HERE.......Take your business and money to a practice that will actually acknowledge you rather then move you in and out ridiculously quick and leave you walking out confused and feeling like you had NOTHING accomplished. I thankfully found another doctor although NOT covered by my insurance she will send us for the requested blood work that will help us determine the root cause of the major symptoms that are being experienced. She also spends at least 30-45 minutes with her patients, ESPECIALLY since it is the 1st visit. So sadly disappointed with this Woodlands facility......
Wonderful place. Dr Dimartino is very open and informative. I feel like a person, not a number when I'm in an appointment with him. I have changed my family doctor to him because I value his expertise so much and feel he actually listens to me. The nurses are very nice too. If you have difficulty making payments, talk to them and they will work with you depending on your situation.
Altogether I would never recommend this place and am upset that I wasted my time here. The front desk staff never pick up the phone and trying to talk to them was a nightmare. They lost my papers that were supposed to be filled out and I had to make multiple trips just for them to receive them all. I also had to get bloodwork done and they didn't even order the correct tests for me to get done so I winded up having to go to another doctor anyways. It seems the place is old and outdated and if you need a competent place to trust with your health and well being, this is not the place.
I was thoroughly disappointed and extremely angry after my first appointment. The initial appointment was 5 months after I called. The packet of information needed pages and pages of background/history which I filled out diligently. The packet asked not to wear lotion, nail polish, or hair products to the appointment because hair, nails, and skin needed to be assessed. The packet also said to give 2-3 hours for the first appointment for an in-depth assessment. When I got to the practice: 1. The receptionist scanned in my pages of background/history while I waited - to be expected and not a problem. 2. A tech then took me into a room to enter information into the computer. She asked me the same questions in the same order that were on the pages and pages of information I had already provided and that had already been scanned in. It was very apparent that no effort had been made to review/use the information I had taken at least 2 hours to pull together on the forms that the tech already had. 3. Saw the doctor for maybe 10-15 minutes. First thing he walked in and asked, 'So why are you here today?' I had listed about 5 concerns on my form, provided recent lab work, and a 7 day food diary. I mentioned weight loss first. He immediately recommended without reviewing my information/labs or asking any questions putting me on a HCG diet - which apparently is pregnancy hormone injections to lose weight. He said I would lose 20 pounds in 2-3 weeks!! This was a medical doctor recommending weight loss at 20 pounds in 2-3 weeks - I was just stunned! I was not interested in the HCG diet plan. He next asked me to tell him about my meals - it was very apparent he had not looked at any of my information because he was not aware that my food diary was in my file. I told him about the food diary in the file, he reviewed it for a minute, said I was making good food choices overall, and gave me an article listing alkaline foods to help with weight loss and told me to call 'Mark' at the office if I decide I wanted to try the HCG diet. When I tried to tell him about my other concerns, I wasn't sure if he was interested/listening as he yawned during that brief conversation. Next he talked about getting lab work done - again I had to tell him that I had brought recent lab results and they were in my file. He then reviewed the labs and ordered 4 other tests. More tests were fine but this was the extent of my consultation. He asked me to wait in another room and someone would be with me to give me a test. 4. 20-25 minutes later, the tech showed up and gave me a take home spit test that I was to mail in. In summary, I spent 2 hours and 20 minutes at the practice and only saw the doctor for maybe 15 minutes. No assessment of nails, hair, skin were done. There was no review forget analysis! of the information I had provided. I left extremely disappointed and angry - will NEVER go back to this practitioner. 5 months of my time wasted waiting for this useless appointment to happen!! Kicker - follow-up appointment was offered for 2 months later - No Thank You!!!
The clinic looks like it is still in the 80’s, run down and out of date. Takes forever to get in to see Dr Kracht and impossible to communicate if you are not in front of him. Still waiting for my lab work results from 2 months ago. I guess I need to wait for my appointment that is 3 months away.
The staff is wonderful and I love the wholisitic approach to treatment. It's nice to have a place that tries alternative modalities rather than solving everything with a synthetic pill. Dr. Dimartino has a very gentle way about him. He makes me feel very comfortable. I wish there were more centers like this throughout the country.
