"City of Santa Monica Woodlawn Cemetery, Mausoleum & Mortuary provides funeral home/mortuary services, cremation, and cemetery plots, niches & crypts all in one location. Woodlawn Cemetery, Mortuary and Mausoleum is wholly owned and operated by the City of Santa Monica - one of the few municipally-owned cemeteries in California and the only City owned mortuary in the U.S. The City purchased the cemetery in 1897 and the Mausoleum in 1972. In 2010, a full service funeral home was opened on the facility, offering mortuary services, funeral arrangements and cremation. With the addition of Eternal Meadow in 2017, Woodlawn is one of only three facilities in Southern California that provides green/natural burial."
