Edit: Since there is no way to reply to your lie filled comment. The rental was under my sister's name, if you must know. The current mess you have in that office is far worse than who you had before. You don't get to come to Texas and treat locals the way you have without your business being run into the ground. You will see soon enough as the proper authorities are already working on the issues like elderly residents being without water for extended periods, sewage issues, theft from residents by employees, etc. I can keep going if you would like all your dirty laundry on here. Horrible owners after being bought out by a communist California investment company. They fired all the good managers and brought in felons who steal from residents and nothing is done when it is reported.
Made a reservation for Labor Day weekend, I can't say that I stayed here, we canceled our reservation because of the weather within the cancelation policy. I will say that the people that work in this place have no idea about issuing a refund. I was told my check was in the mail over and over again, also was told that the mail was running late. Unfortunately I had to get my credit card company involved, was given excuse after excuse, but was promised a refund within 7 days from my cancelation. I would suggest a name change from Woody Acres to SHADY MANAGEMENT.
We wintered at Woody Acres for 4 years from 2013 to 2017. Our RV was destroyed by Hurricane Harvey in 2017. We decided to return for the 22-23 winter season. They sent us an invasive financial questionnaire requesting disclosure of household income, our debt to income ratio, whether or not we rented or had a mortgage etc etc. A simple request to run a soft credit check would have sufficed. They required receipt of this mandatory information before disclosing whether or not they had availability for a 3 month stay. Folks may be willing to bare their financial souls for a camping spot. I'm not one of those people. Snowbirds beware.
I would not stay at Woodys Acres. I have not stayed there yet, however, I have tried multiple times to contact them about their resort to no avail. I have been hung up on, left a message, no reply, tried contacting by email 4 times, with no answer. If I were someone else looking for a resort to stay at do consider other resort other than Woodys Acres because your treatment at Woody would be non existing. Please note that I did gave them a single star because even though they do NOT deserve even one.
This place is pretty great. I was looking for a spot to stay when I went fishing and found this spot. Wonderful location within easy driving distance of the coast, and figured I’d give it a try. It’s SO MUCH cooler than I was expecting! The property is gorgeous with waterfront views for RV spots, WIFI, a pool and I can even bring my German Shepard. This is my go-to spot now, and the owners have been nothing but great. I hear they are going to ad short term rentals with water views as well, so we could just pack a swimsuit and hit the coast.
We came for Memorial Day weekend and the staff were excellent at taking care of us all the way during our stay. Our spot had a broken sewage flange, and we only noticed it after we set up. We told the front office about it and it was fixed by the time we got back from dinner. Everyone was friendly, even when our kids accidentally splashed a resident in the pool, she laughed it off and showed patience and kindness towards us. Don't bother going to Wilderness Oaks RV park or The Lagoons, this place is head and shoulders above them, and is very family friendly. Great place to stay, great facilities, and great people, we will definitely be back. Thanks for making our experience great!
Terrible Place and experience!! Booked this place for my husband and son’s fishing trip and found out pictures and descriptions are very deceiving. The cabin we reserved DOES NOT HOST MORE THAN 2 people even though descriptions say 6!! My husband is over 6 ft tall and my 3 sons did not fit!! They arrived from another city at 11:30 pm and ended up leaving after being there 5 min. The next morning I contacted the front office to explain and ask about cancellation policy and the “Gentleman” named Rafi WAS VERY RUDE!! He said he couldn’t do anything because the call wasn’t made on arrival!! We had the whole weekend booked and he was unwilling to even consider refunding one night back. His exact words were “I can’t open your reservation back up for someone else to book so I will lose money!” Then proceeded to tell me he had something to do and hung up on me!!!! So I contacted air bnb would I used to book the cabin and they weren’t much help either! They contacted the resort and only refunded me $50 from a $325 rental that wasn’t even checked into! Talk about customer service!! This place is outdated,small, and unclean!!! Customer service is TERRIBLE!! Would not recommend to anyone!!
The Wi Fi is NOT WORKING at all. The signal is strong, but the password they give you is wrong. It looks like they don't want to share it with traverlers. The rest is perfect.
Very nice quiet neighborhood and well kept....no noisy children or party animals. We enjoyed 4 nights there and found the staff very friendly as well as other campers and the full time residents. This was our second visit, and we will be making a return.
I have owned a place at Woody Acres for over ten years and it has been wonderful until new management took over several weeks ago. There is no longer maintenance and all staff have been fired. The pool is now green and has not been maintained. The hot tubs look like pools of urine. The staff is uncooperative and not helpful. It is so unfortunate that such a wonderful place has been ruined in the span of three weeks and so sad that our family vacation has been ruined by this. Things change unfortunately. We will find a new vacation destination.
