I was instructed to call Wright County by the Humane Society about a cat that was being abused and neglected because the cat needed care right away. I call the non emergency number and was told a deputy would be out shortly. One hour later they show up ask a couple questions. Don't even inspect the cat and just gave the cat back to the owner. Now I understand this is not a human and their normal calls. But there are animal cruelty laws, but I guess they didn't care. It was obvious by the lack of listening and attitudes that they didn't care. Now I support law enforcement, but these two are two that make the good ones look bad. I am very disappointed.
My family has had several encounters with Buffalo Police Dept and Wright County Sheriff's Office and all responding officers have been kind, respectful and helpful. Yesterday morning in rush hour I spun around then skidded off the highway heading into St. Michael and the responding Deputy J. Miller was wonderful. I was able to calm down once she got there as I almost skidded into an oncoming car but ended up taking out a mailbox and hitting the ditch instead. A wonderful man in a truck towed me out just as the Deputy pulled up. Deputy Miller took care of everything including notifying the owner of the mail box. My son showed up to take my grandson to school so I could continue on to my doctor appointment. This could have been a fatal car crash. We were very lucky. These law enforcement personnel human beings risk their lives every day including when they must stand by the side of the road while stopping a vehicle, knocking on a door to serve a warrant, responding to a call for assistance and just plain wearing a uniform that to most of us mean HELP as it should. They all MUST make snap decisions, often to save a life, whereas it is too easy for the rest of us to judge without walking a mile in their shoes, as if we could.
Crashed my vehicle off the end of a "T" road with my niece in the car. Within minutes a sheriff was there to help by calling a tow truck and making sure we were safe. We ended up being fine, but had we been injured his fast arrival may have saved our lives. He was very professional and kind, and I truly can't express how grateful I am to the officer for the qualities he displayed.
I had a traumatic night because of very loud and rapid fireworks that caused me to suffer flashbacks to my time in combat and I really needed someone there to help keep me grounded in real life today. The 911 dispatcher kept telling me she was going to stay with me while I flashed back and thought I was going to die by enemy fire and that me helped so much. The Deputy who came over sat there with me helping me calm down a bit till the paramedics arrived. I honestly don't know what I would have done without those great people to help me. They are the greatest and I thank you all ~! God Bless you all~! God Bless America~!
They are not very friendly or respectful. They act like their above you and are not very helpful. I guess they forgot what serve and protect means and they cover up for each other when they don't abide by the laws themselves.
I was in an abusive relationship for years. Yrs of police calls, reports from neighbors/witnesses, restraining orders,a 6 month jail term he served due to it. All in Wright Co.I was finally to a point where I could plan, and saved up. I put deposit on new place, paid rent on both current and new for months . I needed to slowly move my things out so he wouldn’t notice I was trying to move. He was always hanging around. Then I went home one last time, put my dog in the car, and went to my new house for good. I only told my best friend of 20 yrs where I lived. I didn't submit a change of address. I didn't want it public. I didn't even give my mom my new address. I told my family etc. that once I felt it was safe, I would give it to them, but I paid bills online, kept in touch, so getting mail was the least of my worries. I had a feeling he knew what town I lived in, I had seen his friend following me one day, but I detoured all around for 40 miles, even long after I’d lost him. The town covers a big area, and my ex didn’t have a car, so wasn't that worried about it. I slowly started to feel a little safer everyday. I was still very cautious, but it felt like a new beginning. A month or so after moving, I got a traffic ticket in Wright County. I needed to be honest with the officer, so I told him my address on license was my old one, and explained the whole situation, and said he could access Wright County records to corroborate this, and he was very kind and understanding. He asked me for my new address, which I gave him. I asked him at least 8 times to make sure my address isn’t made public, that I need to feel safe, and he assured me that it was just for his records, and wouldn’t be released. I mailed the ticket payment, and it was done. I slowly started to feel a little safer everyday. I was still cautious, but it felt like a new beginning. Then after 3 months in my new place, I received a voicemail from my ex saying a Wright County cop had shown up at my old house trying to serve me papers, and had been kind enough to give him my new address, which he read off. My world immediately shattered. All those years I had felt hopeless and stuck and exhausted. I had been war torn, and somehow managed through that, and all the fear to get here. It had been so much work. But the hardest part when I heard that was the little glimmers of hope I had felt. The little pieces of happy. That delicate structure that I was trying to build from was gone. I was shaking and felt sick and crying and when the officer showed up at my new house 15 minutes later to serve me, I asked why he had done that. Given my address to him. Surely the only way he could have it was from the officer that gave me the ticket, who must have noted it. Or surely when he looked up my name in the system, he would see the years of documentation. He just laughed. I asked why he was laughing, and he said because my ex was good. That when he knocked and waited for me outside my old house, my ex was helpful, and said that I moved. He then asked if he’d tried my **city name private* address, and that he couldn’t remember exact street. It turns out my suspicions had been correct, he had an idea of town I lived in, but not where I lived in the town. The officer then read off my whole new address to him, with street and house #, and asked if that was right. My ex smiled and said yes. I told the officer that of course he was good. That I wouldn’t have dated him to begin with if he had acted like a psycho up front. That it wouldn’t have taken me this long to get free. I was so upset I could barely stand up. I looked at him and told him that I had finally started to feel safe. That it had taken years to get out, and I had managed to be in my new house for months without him finding me. And the 1 person that I would expect to try and keep me safe, just told him. The officer laughed, and said “I am just doing my job, what do you expect me to do?”, and walked away. The papers I was served were for a Financial Disclosure form in a civil case I never even had to go to court for
This county and most of the sheriffs in it do not follow the law and proper protocol! they MAKE the laws! In the name of “keeping the community safe” My house was broken into! I had video surveillance which gave the 2 Perp’s an identity. Police have the names and addresses. Still no arrest! Still no warrants! Nothing besides a case number and months with no follow up! As well as the perp’s running around wright county with no worries to do it again to anyone they like. But god forbid you did something over a year ago, the police will pull you over for no other reason then they know you must be doing something wrong! No probable cause! No reason to run your plates! No reason to run your identity! All in hopes of never letting you rebuild from past mistakes! It’s like it is done on purpose so you cannot rebuild and get better! When you call them to discuss because you have helped them in the past and felt that you could have a conversation with them about it they are rude! Condescending! And judgemental! Wow well my kids were right! They are not there to serve and protect! They don’t care about you if you are not serving them! They are there to hold you down so they have someone to walk on! I am heart broken, dismayed, and utterly in disbelief that I fought so hard to show my kids that this county and their peace officers are good and caring people just like us! But in the last 2 years I have been proven wrong over and over again! I just don’t understand! And unfortunately I never will! I expected it from some! But never in a million years did I expect it from this officer
Theres not many law enforcement agencies that are more professional than the fine men and women at the WCSO. They have assisted me in several high stress situations in the past.
Had a car stolen an witnessed a guy beat a girl with staple gun an this county did nothing to charge the guy or help the girl. The county cares nothing about any people what so ever.
Best officers in the world. That’s all I have to say.
