A campus within the West Virginia University system, WVU Tech serves more than 1,300 students representing more than 30 states and 20 countries.
History and Location
Founded in 1895 as the Montgomery Preparatory School, WVU Tech has a rich history of academic excellence. WVU Tech currently maintains campuses in Montgomery and Beckley, West Virginia. In the fall of 2017, the University will operate entirely from the Beckley Campus.
Academics
WVU Tech consists of two academic colleges: the College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences and the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences. The University offers more than 40 academic programs, including 9 ABET-accredited engineering programs. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1 and an average class size of 17 students, our classes provide students with personalized attention in a supportive environment.

Accreditation
As a division of West Virginia University, WVU Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Several academic programs, including engineering, engineering technology and nursing, hold specialized accreditation.

The Golden Bears compete in 15 varsity sports.
