We are the Wyoming Community Enrichment Commission ('CEC') - an all-volunteer group with 3 main productions - Concerts in the Park, WY-FI, and Music & More Fest. We annually draw 20,000 people to our combined 14 concert/events!
Our most popular offering "Concerts in the Park" is a leading free summer concert series, held every Tuesday for 10 weeks starting early June at Lamar Park. We host some of the top Michigan, regional, and nationally touring bands. Summer concerts have been held at Lamar Park for over 30 years, and we are proud to carry on the tradition of great music in Wyoming.
We also organize "WY-FI" - Wyoming Fireworks. It is the City's only fireworks display, held the Tuesday before July 4th and follows a special 2 concert evening. After a long absence, our group brought back a Fireworks event to Wyoming in 2013, and have continued it each year since. Watch for our WY-FI event link on our Page, and get to the event early!
Music & More Fest, which launched in 2014, is a celebration of high-quality music, healthy local food, and unique entertainment. It features multiple bands, an arts & crafts fair, home run derby, disc golf competition, an outdoor movie on a 35' inflatable screen, and a beer/ wine/ cider tent. We are funded primarily through local business sponsorships. We provide numerous forms of effective advertisement for our sponsors, and since 2011, our sponsor network has ballooned from just one company, to 71 companies sponsoring in 2015. We also receive partial funding from the City of Wyoming, donations taken at the concerts, and concession sales.
