The Wyoming State Library serves state government agencies, Wyoming libraries, and residents of the Cowboy State.
The Wyoming State Library is one of five divisions of the Department of Administration & Information, along with Human Resources, Budget, Economic Analysis, and General Services. The WSL serves state government agencies, Wyoming libraries, and residents of the Cowboy State. It’s the mission of the WSL to provide exceptional library service and resources to our patrons so that all Wyomingites may have the opportunity to succeed personally, professionally, academically, and in the community.
"The Wyoming State Library was first established in 1871 as the Wyoming Territorial Library. By statute, it is the official repository of state government documents and is responsible for the extension and development of library services statewide. The WSL manages the statewide WYLDcat library catalog, the GoWYLD research databases and electronic resources, and the Digital Collection Suite of Wyoming historical resources."
