Ok this place is ok it really needs some tlc the fields need a lot of work it would be great if they covered some of the seats even if they put up some of the triangle canvas covering. The Concession stand is probably the best part of the whole place it's pretty nice I'm not a beer drinker but there is a bar in the Concession stand lol with TV's so you can watch your kids and the TV at the same time lol if they would fix the turf fields this place would be a five star all day long
They charge admission to watch your own kid play ball and yet the fields are falling apart, dugouts have a makeshift fence from Home Depot ziptied to the rails as the dugouts protectant shield from foul balls. Where does all the money go from admission cause it sure isn't to keep up the condition of facility. Their rules for entry are never consistent. On one attempt, they let everyone bring drinks and player snacks through, another attempt to enter, and they make you pour out your water bottles, then another attempt they make players dump their bottles. This place has no consistency and is terrible for youth league ball. Team Moms that bring snacks can't take them in half the time. Players get harassed about water bottles all because they want you to spend money on overpriced items in their understaffed, rude concession-stand ran by kids that hardly pay attention. The sports complex is a much better situation, and the freedom to bring necessary items for players like WATER when temps are in the 90s and 100s should not be infringed upon. It's ridiculous to use this venue.
Enough reviews have mentioned how rundown this complex is and they are all true, but I want to also point out that they will not let you bring in coffee or any other outside drinks for 8 am games. They want to force you to buy their concessions which I guess is fine at other times of the day they search your bags, but they don’t sell starbucks or energy drinks or anything else that people normally drink in the morning. We did not buy a thing from their concession stand as a result of having to leave our coffee in the car. Dumbest policy ever … let’s take peoples coffee away in the morning. Never going here by choice again.
$50 entry fee for spectators... Really? $5 for a 16oz Drink... Really? $4 for a candy bar... Not even king size? No water in dugouts for athletes.... This place should be called Little League Nightmares! A couple of local high schools could use their fields and put this place out of business.
I am so very disappointed with this field. Our first ever tournament here years ago was great. We made a return to this field this weekend and yikes. They very obviously are putting profits over player health/safety. My first gripe is the over priced gate fee coupled with no food/drinks for players. While I understand that they are trying to get people to buy from the concession stands, their operations are ran so poorly that it’s IMPOSSIBLE to buy snacks for your player in a timely fashion it took us 30 minutes to get a hot dog, really?. The players need snacks in between games during tournaments and if the concession stands can’t operate like a well oiled machine then this field needs to take the loss and let these kids bring in small snacks. Putting profitability over player safety and health is in very poor taste. The fields are in terrible condition considering the money grab they have going on between tournament fees, gate fees, and over priced concessions. Multiple times our players had to adjust the turf on the pitchers mound so they didn’t trip. Every time a kid slide into second or third base the base moved/slid with them. You can see multiple turf patches on the field. Play elsewhere; there are much better kept fields in the DFW metroplex that don’t try to rip you off when you’re just trying to watch your kids play ball.
BLD will not let you bring in outside drinkswater in coolerduring practices when it’s 100 plus degrees outside and on top of that the concession stand is closed. The establishment have people at the entrance searching bags when they can easily use that staff member to work the concession stand.
I am sure this was a great ballpark when it was new. However, now it is run down, and the fields are unsafe to play on. The turf on all the fields needs to be replaced. They have patched up areas on the fields, but the new turf sticks up higher than the original and has holes, which makes it a safety hazard. I am surprised no one broke a leg sliding and getting their foot or ankle caught in the turf. It would also be nice if their scoreboards were operational during the tournament. I am shocked the city has not shut them down due to safety concerns. The food was good but was way too overpriced. It was more expensive than going to a Roughriders game. The only redeeming part of the food courts was unlimited refills on their drinks. Going to this ballpark reminded me of what I would expect a ballpark to look like after 10 years of being in a fallout shelter and finally coming out to see what the world looks like.
Love the concept, but this complex is run down and everything is over priced. $8 a day to get in as a player. Bag checks, only thing you could bring in is water. No Gatorade, pedialite or snacks so we had to purchase even more from the facility. With 103* weather playing multiple games in a day with NO AC in the concession building is crazy! Top it off with lumps of new turf put into the holes of old turf. There was dirt put around home plate on some fields? With the amount of money this complex is bringing in... there needs to be serious upgrades/maintenance done.
The facility is big and nice. They got open sitting areas and bench/table under the roof. BUT, they are costly. They require a gate fee of $10 per adult for "daily" entry. Most tournament charges one time only but if you play for two days you are paying $40 for the parents. It makes sense they charge to maintain the facility but I saw trash everywhere during both days in the same tournament. They also don't use score board which is strange. They have a restaurant in the center of the facility but food isn't cheap. for example $10 for a 700cc cup beer, $8 for a nacho.
Really cool place but very poorly maintained. Turf fields are in such bad shape they are a danger to the kids. Not one of the scoreboards works during a major softball tournament!!! The only thing allowed in is water and fruit I couldn't even being my coffee in. Never again!!
