great ice rink laid in the 4h bldg . they have attendants on duty and places for parents to sit. appears to be smiles all over the icebas folks enjoy participating with their children. good fa mmm only fun
The rink is very cold! I know that sounds dumb, going to an ice rink, but at many locations it is a little warmer in the stands for the crowd, but this one I know to prepare ahead because it's very cold in the bleachers...however, this time they did have the heaters on which helped a little. My other issue is that we were here for high school hockey, and the parents and family of the Yankton team were AWFUL! Like cheering and laughing when one of their players knocked out one of our players, he wasn't moving on the ice...really?!?! That's someone's son out there, these are kids - many are only 14 or 15 years old...and they were acting like it was a UFC match. One of our players was leaving the ice, and the Yankton people were SPITTING on him. What in the world?! Worst sportsmanship I have ever seen. That's just two examples of their awful behavior...but it makes me dread any time we have to play that team again. :
Nice, clean, and they have a concession stand. They have hockey, figure skating and open skates during the winter. But they're only open half the year. The rest of the year the space is used by the local 4-H club.
