Dr. Yapa completed his four year undergraduate degree in biology and a four year degree in dentistry at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Dr Yapa then completed a one year internship at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago,IL followed by a four year residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Yapa manages a wide variety of problems relating to the face and jaws. Dr. Yapa practices a full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with expertise ranging from cosmetic facial surgery to corrective jaw surgery and replacement of missing teeth with dental implants. He also has extensive experience in the diagnose and treatment of impacted wisdom teeth, facial injuries and TMJ disorders .

I went in for the consultation Dr. Yapa and all the staff I interacted with were nice. They explained what needed to be done and I went back to get my tooth done about a month later. They had sooner appointments but I chose a date that worked with my schedule. Local anesthetic was used and my wisdom tooth came out quickly and painlessly. They explained at home care and I was sent home with items necessary as well as a sheet of directions.

The only place near me that even accepted my insurance. I hen I called they got me in in a reasonable time. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed today and the experience couldn’t have been better. First off I am terrified of needles and chose IV sedation for the procedure. My veins are small and don’t cooperate it takes a few pokes to get the vein. Overall a nightmare when I see a needle. Dr Yapa made me feel calm and relaxed. Although It did take two pokes it didn’t hurt. After that I don’t remember a thing. Woke up and everything was done after a half hour. 8 hours later, no swelling, minimal pain from having gauze in my mouth constantly. I couldn’t be more thankful for Dr Yapa and staff. Thank you!!

My brother underwent tooth extractions and a coronectomy today.  He was prescribed and offered medications that are known to exacerbate his medical condition.  When asked for alternatives, instead of speaking with the doctor, he had an assistant provide a response that was poor and uneducated.  They insulted my intelligence as a physician as it relate to pain management.  I would’ve expected a better response from a surgeon.  Please do not go there if you have any special circumstances and feel that you deserve more respect.  I wish I could rate them at 0/5.

I will give ZERO star if I can. Bad experience ever with my son. Dr.Yapa is  unprofessional, very arrogant. He does not care about the pt. I got my son for a big surgery at the hospital even though I visited his office and paid him so he will perform the procedure. I found out the resident  general surgery resident who was not a dentist at all who is the one who did it. They did not clean all the lesion. They left a piece in his jaw. He never inform me about it and  never follow up with me after the surgery to check on him or see him for one week follow up. Also they did not send  me the biopsy results. I found out by chance when I got X-ray at my office that still part of the lesion there. then I called and asked for the biopsy results may be 6 months after surgery. I will not recommend him at all. and by the way I am a general dentist  so I know what he is doing and he is better not mess with me but unfortunately he did. Do not go to him ..

Dr. Yapa is the absolute TRUTH! He’s easy to talk to made my daughter and myself very relaxed after explaining the procedure. He’s fast my daughter had no pain or problems post-op! The staff is amazing

Great office. I needed some infected/broken teeth removed and they got me in within 2 weeks. Feeling immense relief from my toothaches. Dr. Yapa and his team do amazing work.

I had three teeth extracted, and one was a wisdom tooth. First off I want to say how grateful I am that you accepted my insurance.  They even got me in very quickly which was such a relief!  The Dr. was very professional and asked all of the right questions.  The front staff are so helpful and nice when I call.  The Dr. stitched me perfectly and I’m healing just fine!

Highly recommend this dental office! They accepted my insurance, got me in the same day and the service was excellent! Dr. Yapa was very nice!

Went there about a year and a half ago for a wisdom tooth extraction. I was the first appointment never seen the doctor next thing I know I’m waking up tooth was pulled still never seen the doctor. After a couple weeks my face was still numb and I was told to give it time so I waited a few more weeks he said come in and they would look at it. I was told yeah it’s numb and because of your age 51 it might take time for the feeling to come back. I asked who I should see about this issue and they couldn’t recommend anyone and said again because of your age it will take time well it’s been a year and a half and no change. They don’t care!!!

I was so scared to have oral surgery but Erin  was amazing and her pleasant personality calmed me right down! Thanks girl!!
