First time staying, and I highly recommend this place. We were only staying 1 night before moving further South, and they assigned us to a Big Rig site to accommodate my RV and 2 friends trucks. What an awesome, family oriented campground. The children’s play areas are phenomenal. Campsites are spacious. The people are super friendly. Will definitely be stopping by on my next route through.
This family campground is huge and well kept! Although, it has the feel of a quaint little campground! For us it was a blessing as we had evacuated from hurricane Ian with only our most treasured stuff and a change of clothes! We were greeted and treated like family, not guests! Kristi was wonderful with our check in process she immediately called Ms.Diana for assistance. She was courteous and kind even though; I knew she didn't feel her best. Zelda was so nice to go get our firewood. The campground was quiet and relaxing; especially the lighted fountain in the lake! After, driving all day it was nice to relax before bed. Check out was a breeze as well, Ms. Becky was so compassionate and caring she wished us a safe trip home & she makes amazing coffee! Thank you again to Ragans for going the extra mile, they offered true Customer Service!
This RV resort has the potential to be an awesome family experience and opportunity for making fun memories. The set up is great and all the amenities are perfect for kids. They even appear to have plenty of workers. But their delivery of a friendly and inviting environment is severely lacking. There is absolutely no communication or direction from the park workers. They drive by in golf carts and don't even wave or act happy to see a paying customer. If anything you feel like you are intruding, if you want to do anything you have to ask for assistance. Nothing is easily accessible. They have a bounce house which they will inflate upon request. They have mini golf to play upon request. They have a splash pad which they will open upon request. They have a drivable train which the kids can sit on but is dangerous to be near because children can easily access the brake and controls. But they don't offer any times for rides - even with having an Activities coordinator on staff. They have no planned activities for families. The big water slide was under maintenance our entire visit with no indication of when it would open. Talk about a big teaser for kids. They have pool chairs which you must go and get yourself if you want to sit near the pool and watch your kids swim. I'm sure this place is hopping busy during the summer, but we visited during their off season and found it extremely disappointing that there were no planned activities or ways to meet the other campers. What a missed opportunity.
I just read a review 1 star from a month ago, it was a total lie. I was camping next to them and they were horrible! We couldn't hear our music with our speakers 2 feet from us due to how loud the neighbors was. Management tried to work with the guy over there but he was terrible. Yes cops were called, yes a guy went to jail for being defiant and when these people left they threw food and trash and dirty diapers everywhere! After they left it was a wonderful time as it always is. This park is lovely. Has much more to offer than many other parks. We love the atv trails and just sitting by the lake enjoying the fire. We are getting married there in October and can't wait!
One of our first camping trips ever, we were able to get a spot close to the lake and it was amazing. They have a lazy river and it was refreshing to say the least, they have a slide but it was closed. They have it set up nice for kids and have some trails behind the lake. The staff was friendly and the place was very clean, would recommend visiting if you are in the area.
We came here to evacuate from the hurricane. They gave us a special discount which was much appreciated. This is a family fun campground in the warmer weather season with many amenities. Not a quick overnight spot to sleep place as their regular rate is $87 per night. My only complaints were our site was very unlevel and a very bright light shined in our window at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful!
This was a very fun for kids kinda place for sure. But definitely not like any other camping atmosphere we are use to. Our sons bike was stolen we did find it & get it back but had to keep them locked up. We weren't the only ones to deal with that. & our "neighbors" had someone come into their camp & steal a phone. The "lifeguards" at the big water slide were the typical young high-school boys on their phone & NO regard to Littles coming down that may have some fear... so parents... be watching! The only girl "lifeguard" was great at the bottom of the slide but I'm certain, in trying to be fun, flipped many kids around to go backwards when working at the top of the slide though not allowed according to the rules. Most posted rules were not even a little enforced which I could appreciate some of that often but my son hit his head bad 2x coming down backwards on the water slide... Time to up the training & possibly clean some things up.... but honestly: great vision for great family fun. We would come back but I hope they will honor the rules they made that actually can prevent harm.... Also, ants were atrocious & love bugs unbearable.... maybe September isn't the best time to come! Very diligent about cleaning the bathrooms & picking up trash.... Thanks for the sweet memories overall!
The Pros- The property is beautiful. The surrounding property is serene. We hiked just around the property for hours during our stay. The staff is friendly and more than willing to answer questions. My son enjoyed the large inflated bounce space and the biggest tether ball set you'll ever see. The Cons - There was raw sewage pouring out into the ground about 15 feet from our BBQ grill and front patio. Twice during our stay we flagged down men on golf carts and pointed the issue out to them who told us they would get the manager and be back. Neither time did anyone come back to the cabin to check out or fix the issue. Speaking of "cabin" the original cabin we had booked had been changed to a "nice cabin" as I was told in the phone before arrival. What we arrived to was a very tiny space that had 2 sets of bunks in a closet sized space and almost the entirety of the space was taken up by a double bed. There were 3 of us and to think that nearly twice the amount of people are allowed to stay in the tiny space has to be a fire hazard, especially since the fire ring was 6 feet from the steps. The inside smelled so bad. They had two commercial sized air fresheners mounted in the 10x15ish space making it smell even worse and immediately causing a headache to both my son, and I. When we checked out we, again, mentioned the raw sewage, but this time to the office ladies who were horrified. I would advise anyone making reservations to not book any of the cabins on the 10 row. The water park area was not open even though all of the fountains inside we're going making it appears open. The pool was open, but the pool floor was slimy and covered in algae. The zero entry was actually slippery and dangerous.
We only stayed at this location for two nights off season for the water park. The customer service was fantastic and my kids all had a blast at the huge playground, basketball, and mini gulf. Our site was located under beautiful trees loaded with Spanish moss. The atmosphere was splendid and peaceful even with the close proximity to the highway. I highly recommend this campsite and I will most certainly visit again.
It was our first visit, stayed 3 days and enjoyed the park . There are plenty of things to do with the kids to include the water park, bounce house, basketball court, playgrounds. They also had activities set up every hour on Saturday and some on Sunday. The interaction with staff was great and they were very attentive to all questions and concerns. The rv site was good, clean with plenty of room and no issues. Although the kids enjoyed the water slide, lazy river and splash pad the most, it needs serious maintenace and upkeep. The only other thing was maybe better rule enforcement as someone was blaring their music till 1 am!! It literally woke me up in my rv over my air-conditioner white noise. Overall will return as the kids really enjoyed it.
