The Young Lawyers Section of the Monroe County Bar Association sponsors community outreach activities, social and networking events, and CLE programs. Membership is open to lawyers under age 36, or those admitted to the bar less than 10 years.
Community Service and volunteering work includes working with Rochester Teen Court, by serving as mediators in an alternative sentencing system for non-violent youth offenders, as well as hosting an Annual Silent Auction to benefit Teen Court.
The YLS hosts a number of Continuing Legal Education programs each year with a focus on topics of special interests to young attorneys, including developing skills.
The YLS hosts regular social events and activities, including with other sections of the bar and other young professional organizations. These include a Fall Kickoff Event, VIP Pre-Bench & Bar Reception, New Year’s Happy Hour, Newly Admitted Attorney Event and the Annual YLS Silent Auction.
Numerous YLS members have won recognition and awards over the past year. Congratulations to our Forty Under 40 recipients, Emerging Bar Leader, Up & Coming Attorneys.
