Young Muslim Leadership Program is a an initiative that is being offered at Nueces Mosque to provide an educational opportunity to kids in Austin.
Now Austin Muslim Community has a NEW volunteering based (Tuition-FREE) Sunday school for your children at Nueces Masjid from 12:00-2:00 pm. The program is starting in-Shaa Allah Mid of May, 2014 (Date TBA). The program will accept ONLY 15 kids and we will have a waiting list, and we will fill any future vacancy from the waiting list. After we have more volunteers, more kids will be accepted.
If your children get accepted and did not show up for three successive weeks they will move directly to the end of the waiting list and be replaced by other kids from the top of the waiting list.
The project is called "Young Muslim Leadership Program" - Age 4 - 12 years based on Female/Male volunteering Teachers under the supervision of Nueces Masjid.
As it is a volunteer-based program we encourage everyone (Female/Male) to volunteer to teach in this program according to his/her schedule on the Sundays. Volunteers can choose a session (20-25 minutes long) or more to give the children some teaching about any Islamic topic. The teaching philosophy will be discussed with the volunteers before the start of the School.

After your children get accepted in the program, you need to bring them every Sunday to Nueces Masjid at 12:00pm with snacks and a water bottle. Your children MUST be potty trained to be accepted because we do not have a nannies or baby sitters in this program.
Your children should have some supplies (if available); such as, crayons/markers, papers, for the activities that will be carried on during the sessions with some teachers. You need to be sure that your children have their supplies with them as they leave the school every Sunday and bring them back the next Sunday.
Finally, you MUST pick your children up at 2:00pm in-Shaa Allah before Dhuhr Prayer.
