Kind and compassionate service. They really do go above and beyond to help in a difficult time. They take care of everything. Big thanks to them.
Don Munro was absolutely incredible. He was there for our family every step of the way. His gentle professionalism and guidance made a very difficult time, manageable. We couldn't have done it without him. He was efficient and went beyond the call of duty to help in our time of need. The city of Stratford is blessed to have W.G. Young Funeral Home and their amazing staff there to assist during the most difficult times in life. Thank you for all that you do.
Thankfully this review didn't have to come at the cost of one of my own family members or friends. I went to a funeral of a friends grandfather. The atmosphere was one of comfort, and the celebration was more of life than it was of death. The deceased who I only knew briefly in life and known him to be a frail, sick looking man was lying in his casket. Like you imagined, he looked as if he were sleeping, but also had a look of dignity, peace, and dare I say completion. As if he won the race he was running. The funeral director was present, but didnt hover over people. If this was your first funeral, you may have missed him except for the attendance he gave to the family. Ever present but not in your face. I even had a conversation with him and quickly discovered he had a servant's heart. Even the coffee was perfectly done which if you've been to as many funerals as I have, you would know that a simple cup of coffee can be mastered or bastardized easily. When it comes to funerals, it's hard to find the good through so much grief. Thankfully, these folks made a hard time easier for those whose world had fallen apart.
Greg and Wayne were very professional at a very difficult and emotional time. There was zero pressure. They were incredibly patient through the process. They accommodated special requests without question. I was very impressed at how they worked with us to set a schedule and they were always prepared and on time actually early. At a crucial event they were beside us each step of the way. I can’t say thank you enough and would highly recommend WG Funeral Home.
These people get it. Something terrible has just happened and you're standing in the middle of a tornado of arrangements, banks, lawyers, and suggestions from 'well meaning' relatives and friends all of a sudden there they are, Wayne, Greg and Don calming you down and crushing the tornado with their caring attitude and the resources built on years of experience. Obviously from this review I cannot say enough good things about this firm but they deserve every word of my praise, A big thank you to all of the folks there.
Is there an option for 10 stars? The staff at W.G. Young are absolutely amazing. As someone else has already written, I cannot say thank you enough. I cannot even put into words how helpful, respectful, professional, caring and generous all of these people are. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. David and Don - you are absolutely exceptional at what you do.
The set-up for hosting funerals and after luncheon is great but I found the bathroom scent way too over the top. I have multiple chemical sensitivities but even people I spoke with that haven't got sensitivities said it was too much. May is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity month so I though I would contribute this viewpoint and promote a scent free society. People with sensitivities can suffer for days after an exposure to perfumes and scented products. Not just irritated sinuses or allergic histamine reactions but hormonal imbalances that cause anger and mood swings. Please look into using eco friendly cleaning products and ditch the scents.
I agree, Don Munroe is nothing short of amazing. His guidance was a huge help for me and my family in our darkest times. Truely greatful and would highly recommend W.G Young to anyone.
Very perfessional and classy. Helpful understanding staff.
Comforting & courteously respectful throughout.
