So……where do I begin, there are so many reasons I decided to become a Certified Health and Wellness Coach. One of the main reasons was that I could see I was taking very good care of myself. I would skip meals and eat anything I could get me hands on when I finally did eat. I would get what I am sure most of you have felt before, which is “hangry”. I would let myself get so hungry I would get angry, irritable, shaky, and sick. I then found out my blood sugars were dropping very low during these times and I would end up just eating junk to get something in my belly. Then my blood sugar would go back up and then just drop again because I was eating anything with substance or nutritional value. This type of eating had a domino effect on my whole life. Since I wasn’t feeling good I was crabby all the time and became a coach potato. I didn’t feel like doing much of anything especially working out.
I finally decided that I needed to change something. I was sick of feeling tired, sick, and just worn out all the time. I hired my own health coach and everything changed!! It wasn’t an overnight fix, but that was okay, small changes make huge impacts in my life!! For me the best thing was that I had someone to help me stay accountable for what I was and was not doing. She taught me about how, when, and what things I should be eating and doing. It was nice to hear someone say that these changes didn’t have to be made overnight that you can move slowing and still see effects in your life. Not everything had to be organic or expensive. She taught me how to buy the right foods and read nutritional labels. You would be surprised to see that there are so many foods out there labeled as healthy and nutritious, but really are not at all. A lot of them are just full of sugar and all kinds of other ingredients that I can’t even say, let alone know what they actual are or why we need them in our bodies in the first place.
After having such a great experience with my health coach and learning so much I decided I wanted to help other as well. I have all this knowledge now between schooling and my own personal experiences now I want to help others. I love seeing the positive impacts in others’ lives from just making healthier choices in the food we put into our bodies. It really is amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it!!
