WHAT IS YOUTHBUILD?
YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School provides out-of-school youth in Philadelphia with the broadest range of tools, supports and opportunities available to become self-sufficient, responsible and productive citizens in their community. Our 12-15 month program gives high school dropouts a second chance to earn their diplomas – through a rigorous blend of academics, on-the-job training and community service – and prepare for college and full time employment.

WHY YOUTHBUILD?
When students are asked what they like most about the program, the most common answer is, "YouthBuild Philadelphia is a family." In addition to our multi-layered support system, YouthBuild provides the opportunity for young people to:
• Earn a high school diploma
•Receive hands-on job training that can lead to high paying careers
•Earn weekly incentives
•Earn a college scholarship
•Receive a weekly transpass or tokens
•Earn a certification in construction, healthcare, or technology - uniform/tools provided
•Prepare for college and career

WHO ATTENDS YOUTHBUILD?
YouthBuild Philadelphia is a school for motivated young people who want an opportunity to earn a high school diploma and transition to a successful future. More than 1950 young adults have completed the program since 1992, and our graduates consistently move on to college and full-time employment.

Eligibility requirements include:
• You must be between the ages of 18 and 20 on the day of enrollment - September 3, 2013
• Currently live in the City of Philadelphia
• Officially dropped out of school (transfer students and high school graduates are not eligible)

HOW DO YOU APPLY TO YOUTHBUILD?
Applications are accepted every year February through July. Applicants can apply on our website at www.youthbuildphilly.org/admissions.html, or fill out the attached application and return it in person or by mail to: 1231 N. Broad St., 5th Floor Philadelphia, PA 19122

The application process includes a mandatory information session, interview (May – August), and a eight day Mental Toughness Training for select applicants in August.
