Rude receptionist
My referral was approved 2 months ago. I never received a message or a phone call to schedule and when I tried to call them myself, nobody answered and there was no option to leave a voicemail. Extremely unprofessional. Edit: I tried calling this sleep center a handful of more times to try to get ahold of someone. On one occasion someone answered the phone, put me on hold immediately, and then hung up so I went to an answering service. The answering service would not allow me to leave a message unless it was an emergency. After 3 or 4 tries, I was finally able to reach someone. They could not explain why they never reached out to me, and I was finally able to schedule. I arrived to my sleep study on time, packed for a night at a hotel like the instructions said to. The technician did not allow me to remove my makeup, brush my teeth, or conduct any other normal part of my normal sleep routine like the paperwork said I would be allowed. Their instructions SHOULD say "Arrive with your teeth brushed, medication taken, and ready to go to sleep right as you walk through the door." The technician who is not a doctor had an attitude throughout the entire sleep study and insinuated that I was wasting my time with having a sleep study based on my symptoms. I took several sleep aids to try to get to sleep as I have pretty severe insomnia, and after an hour of being unable to sleep I turned on my phone to listen to some music and try to wind down. This is a normal part of my sleep routine, and I told the technician that I normally go to sleep from 2-4AM so he knew that going to bed at 9PM would be a challenge for me. One of my leads came undone, and the technician came in to fix it. I asked to use the restroom at that time and he appeared very irritated. When I returned, he chastised me for being on my phone. I told him that this was a normal part of my sleep routine, but he insisted that I could not be on my phone at all during the sleep study because it was a medical test. This was not mentioned in the paperwork I received prior to my appointment either. If I had known, I would have brought a much heavier dose of sleep medication. I continued to have a difficult time falling asleep, partly due to the sound of the technician's TV that he was watching in the main office. The next morning the technician tried to diagnose my sleep issues and told me that I could resolve my insomnia if I just didn't use my phone. I told the technician that I have had insomnia before I even started puberty and have tried everything from melatonin, to prescription strength sleep aids and even off-label usage of mood stabilizers out of pure desperation from myself and my doctors to find better sleep. The technician practically snickered that mood stabilizers would only be prescribed for someone who had experienced a psychotic break. Again, I feel that it is important to mention that the technician is not a doctor, and certainly not a psychologist. This comment was at the very least insulting. I suffer from chronic health problems and have seen a variety of specialists for those issues, however my experience with this sleep center from start to finish has by far been one of the worst medical facilities I've ever experienced. Although I doubt that they care about their feedback because they have received regular 1 star ratings for several years. They likely will not do anything to improve their facility anytime soon, so I would advise that anyone who has to have a sleep study done take their business elsewhere. Thank me later.
I had two sleep studies conducted at this center. Not only did the doctor never get back to me, but my results were never forwarded to my clinic. I was told by the technicians that I had mild sleep apnea and nothing was done about it, no CPAP, no mouth guard, nothing. Fast forward to 4 years later, a new sleep center diagnosed me with sleep apnea and a doctor scheduled a sit down with me to go over my results. This sleep center is the absolute worst. Do not go through them with your insurance if possible. They are only interested in making their money with ZERO results.
I have never had a medical facility call me, ask me if they could move my tele-appointment to an earlier date, then have a collection agency call me at the time of the appointment for co-pays. Which, I would have paid long ago, if they had an online bill pay service like most offices. Or, if there were physical visits, like before COVID-19. Or, if there was any mention of the this going to collection from the representative who called me. Or, if they had a bill slot on their door, and were open sometime besides Mon-Fri during work hours to receive payment. I had no feeling that they gave any care about about my well-being. It was actually one of the worst experiences I have had at a medical facility.
Several weeks after being told a referral was sent in for me, and that the office would be calling me to set up an appointment, I got tired of waiting, and contacted my doctor for the phone number of this office. I called, and Stacey answered. She sounded very unenthused, and rude. I politely told her I was following up to see if I could schedule an appointment, as they had yet to call me. She said they didn't call me because my doctor never sent in the referral. How she knew that, I'm not sure, as I hadn't told her who I was yet. She said I needed to get ahold of my doctor. I then asked if she would be able to look up to see if they did in fact get my referral. Stacey let's out a big sigh, then in a very much annoyed tone, asked my name, then my birthdate. She says "Yeah, your doctor didn't send it in, you need to deal with them." I said "Alright, thank you, I will call them." I call my doctors office, and ask if they can resend the referral. I get a call back a couple minutes later, saying they called the office, and were told they DID in fact receive my referral, and when they tried to call me, it said my phone number was disconnected. The same number my doctors office just called me on. They confirmed the number with them, and told me to call them at a specific number, which was the same number I had just called them on. So obviously, Stacey is a liar in some aspect. She either lied about looking me up in the first place, or lied about having received the referral. She doesn't seem to care about her job at all, and after reading some reviews online, it seems like this is regular behavior for this office. I'm going to have to see if there's another sleep lab that I can go to, as this one is obviously sub-standard. Don't waste your time with them, and confirm with your doctor that they aren't sending your referral to Lung Allergy Sleeping Disorder, as nothing will come of it.
Ridiculously slow. I started the sleep apnea process on February 20th with a visit to my primary care Doc. Finally got an appointment April 4th with the sleep center. Diagnosis took another 3 weeks. Second study required to measure air pressure needed. Soonest availability early June. Then center cancelled and rescheduled for June 22, 2018. Still waiting for who ever to review results two weeks later. It should not take 5 months to respond to a critical medical need. A friend of mine went to a different lab and has his machine in less than a month. Only one sleep study required!
Primary Dr made refer. for sleep study and was contacted by a rather bubbly personality about scheduling appointment for consult. Received questionare packet in mail, filled out, sent back and then waited for consult appointment on Sept 27@ 1:30pm. Sept.12@ 3:59pm missed call from l.a.s.d. Center “reminding me” of my sleep study appointment @ 7:30pm and that there would be a 100.00 “no show” fee if I missed appt. I went to appt to meet tech and advise that I had not had my initial consultation appt. and was not prepared to do the sleepover appt at this time. I was informed that I would be charged the 100.00 fee so I decided to lick my wounds and walk away as I wasn’t sure I needed the testing anyway. Sept26 @ 10:53am I receive a from lasd. canceling my Sept27 consult appt due to dr family emergency??? Oct 10 I receive bill for 100.00 so I called office and pleaded my case, I was placed on hold for a long time, treated rude and smugly by girl on phone and told i would have to pay because I didnt keep appt. If I could give lower than 1 star I would and do not by ANY means recommend this office or it’s staff Good Luck!
wish i could give this place negative stars. lazy and untimely. your results take 6-8 weeks to get back, you'd think they'd want to get your results to you fast as they can because your health is being affected..but no, they are too busy doing their make up and gossiping to give a f***
Staff was super nice and helpful. They did their best to minimize any scheduling difficulties and the facility was nice and clean. Very professional experience all around.
Excellent service the girls working there are fantastic and so is Dr. Randhawa no complaints.
