YUMMIES are made from scratch with quality ingredients like real butter, farm fresh brown eggs (locally produced when available), natural peanut butter, Ghirardelli chocolate and the best vanilla extract. I never use mixes or shortcuts. I believe quality ingredients and a little extra time make a difference and once you try my Yummies, I know you'll agree!
A little about me...
I reside in Londonderry with my husband of 21 years, we have a talented son who is off at college in north western Ohio. When I'm not baking, I also love to cook, garden, and birdwatch.
I have loved baking since I was a kid. I credit my Easy Bake Oven for sparking my interests with those teeny little cakes that baked under the lightbulb. It was just the coolest thing ever to me! As I outgrew my toy, I began to practice baking in a real oven. I would pull out my Mom's old cookbooks and make whatever we had the ingredients for. Sometimes I didn't like how the recipes turned out so I would alter them and try to improve them...it all went from there. When I became a teenager I had a wonderful home ec teacher who was very encouraging, it was then that I started entering my cakes and cookies in local fairs and earned quite a collection of ribbons! (I do believe I upset some of the regulars who believed my Grandma had to be baking my entries for me)...
I have regularly made my treats for family and friends over the years and now I am offering them to you! I take pride in my work and love to make people happy with my Yummies!
