Im not from here and am unfamiliar with the area. I was just here for the day on a contract job. I asked my customer for some good eats. He gave me the suggestion of Jackz and raved about how good it was. It ended up being one of the best experiences ever! The atmosphere was great. Low lighting, intimate setting. Our server was polite friendly knowledgeable and professional. I can't compliment the food enough! Best steak I've eaten at a restaurant in years.. maybe even ever! I asked my server if I could speak with the cook as I wanted to compliment him personally on his awesome skills. When he came out I raved about his cooking and my complete satisfaction. I tried to hand him a personal tip and he pointed to our server and told me "just give it to her, she gets it all anyway". It made the experience even better. I am an advocate of supporting small businesses and was very impressed to find out that this establishment is run by a husband and wife couple. As a final note the prices were very reasonable for the quality of excellence of the food and experience.
My wife and I visited JACKZ for our second time yesterday. We were glad to see they are still in business through these rough times. This trip we went with some friends. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and I have to thank our waitress from our first time there on suggesting the roasted brussel sprouts. This is a must have from their menu. We had talked our friends into ordering them, and they disappeared quickly....I take that as a sign that they enjoyed it also. One note, the owner is a chef. If you're trying to get out of there in 30 minutes, it isn't going to happen. The food is excellent. JACKZ is definitely on our go to list.
Food and service great, however the temperature of the food was not! And never heard of gravy on a prime rib and none on the mashed potatoes. No ice in the water. Beer was ice cold! Brussels sprouts outstanding!
Amazing food! I mean amazing... Great family atmosphere, really nothing negative to say I have been going here for months and the food is always great and the service is just as good. My family and I love it
We took our dad here the Friday before Father's Day for the 1st time. The restaurant had nice ambiance when we walked in, and we thought we'd be seated. Instead, a lady greeted us and said we need to come back to another room to order, which seemed a little strange. So we followed her to the back area of the restaurant where there was more seating and a counter. She handed us paper menus on legal paper and told us about the specials. The menu consisted of a whole chicken dinner, some fish items, few steak items or a few dinner salads. The sandwich lunch portion of their menu was not served at dinner time. We ordered at the counter, and had to pay and tip in advance. My husband ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken which was around $15, dad and I had the crunchy salmon which was around $17, and my son had the chicken, which was around $16. The dinner entries come with 2 sides that you get to pick from or you can add a side for about $2.50. I chose cole slaw and green beans. Dad got potato salad and green beans, and my son got mashed potatoes and rice. Dad and I thought the salmon was delicious and the green beans were really good too. The cole slaw was cut into long strings and covered with what appeared to be a Thai peanut sauce. It wasn't bad, though something saying that the sauce contained peanuts should have been posted for those with peanut allergies. Dad said the potato salad was good, and my son said his dinner was okay. Nothing special though. My husband wasn't too happy with his, as it was basically romaine lettuce and dry chicken and parmesan cheese. Honestly, I don't think we'd go back, though I thought the food was good. All of us were more than a little put off with the counter ordering, paper menus, and paying/tipping in advance, for the prices they were charging. The variety wasn't there for dinner choices either. Would have preferred to have had the choice to order a sandwich if we wanted one.
JackZ is a completely different model than the previous Zachary Jacks country French dinner restaurant which was excellent in it's own right. Food is fresh and expertly prepared. Informal, order at counter, then be seated and served. Excellent atmosphere. Nice local wine and craft beer list with reasonable prices. Minimal corkage fees if you bring your own.
The service is good, the food also. I liked the menu that is easy to read. There is a nice prix fixe option where you get three courses that you can pick from the menu. I thought the main course was really good, but a bit too much. The desserts are also very nice; we both had the St Honore cake, which is a heavy cream puff, custard affair. A good value. Recommended.
The naming convention of this place is strange....food was good, fair price. They have all the El Dorado Brewery taps there, my favorite was Big A$$ White Bock....tasty.
Went to Jackz for prime rib, ordered it medium rare, got rare, meat was very tough! The only things that were good was the atmosphere and the beer! I won’t recommend this restaurant to any family or friends!
Wonderful!! Fantastic flavorful quality food served in a simple, calm, perfect setting or easy call- in take out. The owners are great- very very nice- knowledgeable and considerate. I just love this place!!
