Went with some friends just to see what it was about. Really had a good time lots of dancers to suit every taste. Had fun and looking to going back again! The drink specials are awesome and the cover is only $10. I would recommend of you want to just go out and have some drinks and a little entertainment.
What a huge waste! I returned to DC for my first visit in about a decade and remembered this place from way back. Seeking out the new location, I was disappointed in what I found. Rude staff, aggressive and pompous security, and dancers who were mostly straight and ugly. Worse, the dancers are totally standoffish now and you cannot touch. I won't even mention the outrageous prices. Lastly, the place is full of female patrons. I won't ever waste my time or money going there again.
I have no complaints about the male dancers or the drinks. Those were wonderful and fine. However, the queen I saw at the drag show was an issue. I preface this complaint with this: I've been to many drag shows. I know that banter with the audience is expected, being loud and offensive is expected. However the queen performing was just mean. I was picked out after the first number and they talked to me for a bit. However, with the spotlight still on me they openly called me "chunky." I have an eating disorder. I am not even one year fully out of treatment. She called me chunky and the entire audience laughed, they moved on to the next person while I sat there stunned. It ruined my entire night, not because I'm sensitive or thin skinned but because I have a disorder in my head 24/7 telling me that I'm fat and because of it I'm worthless, disgusting, etc. and this only confirmed it in front of a room full of people who confirmed it by laughing along. The result of my experience has been devastating on my mood. I have not been able to eat without crying. Needless to say I won't be coming back.
I will give this place a 2 star. Really, it is a 5 star establishment. However, be warned. There are thieves happily waiting to pick your pocket as you dance and have a drink or two. Now, I know it isn't Ziegfeld's fault that this happens there. I acted in my best interests and canceled all the plastic as soon as humanly possible. With all that said, it's still a place where you have to keep constant vigilance. Who wants to do that. There are many safe and fun places to go that do not harbor thieves. Go there. Don't go here. If you do, keep your valuables close, always.
Easily one of the most strangely located spots in the District. But, totally worthwhile to check out. Nude male dancers on the top floor and drag performances on the main level. Usually a $5-$10 cover, with an ATM nearby.
My friends and I were really looking forward to going here for Pride, especially to see the beautiful, nude dancers that everyone talks about. However, after learning about the awful things DJ Steve Henderson has said online, we won't be going. The misogyny and racism jumped all the way out. Then he claimed he was hacked? Sure, Jan. Maybe next year.
A very large boy, possibly a girl but dressed as a boy and herm sidekick, both dressed like the original Black Panthers, not Wakanda....bumped into me and spilled my drink and didn’t even apologize. If you’re under 5’9 be careful because there are so many HUGE men parading as women that they’ve forgotten they’re not light as a feather as they endlessly clunk around the establishment. Also, need to hire better dancers with more enthusiasm about their chosen profession.
The "Manager" mistook a friend of mine and outright THREATENED him on the evening of Friday February 8th. I asked the Dancer, Bartender, and other employees about the accusation and NO ONE witnessed any incident or understood why my friend was threatened. The dancer claimed NOTHING happened. Therefore, an employee of Ziegfeld's/Secrets "acting within the scope of employment caused harm or loss" to a customer. We will be seeking action against the establishment for it's violations. Fortunately, we were a small group. If you plan to attend this place alone, you will NOT feel safe, you will NOT feel comfortable, and with such subpar employees and neighborhood your life may be in danger. There are far better places and things to do in DC than waste your time and money at this dumpster.
I love watching the drag show and seeing the male strippers upstairs. Lol I already have two favorite dancers, Tip and Fransico. They are so passionate with their dancing. The drag shows downstairs are always entertaining and I always stay for both shows while visiting the dancers upstairs between the shows. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I have to have a male friend come in with me.
Fun place for some nice eye candy. Dancer's were always very nice and bartender was nice and fast. Drink are not too expensive for a stip club. Always had fun talking to the dancers there.
