Zinfandel (Sacramento RT)

Description

Zinfandel is a side platformed Sacramento RT Light Rail station in Rancho Cordova, California, United States. The station was opened on June 11, 2004, and is operated by the Sacramento Regional Transit District. As part of the Gold Line, it has service to Downtown Sacramento, California State University, Sacramento, Gold River and Folsom. Across the street from the stop is the popular Rancho Cordova Town Center mall. The station was originally intended for construction along Folsom, east of Zinfandel Drive. However, RT officials moved the station location west of Zinfandel after requests by the Rancho Cordova Area Chamber of Commerce due to the better location adjacent to retail centers. Zinfandel, along with Cordova Town Center and Sunrise, opened on June 11, 2004, as part of an $89 million, 2.8mi extension of the Gold Line east of the Mather Field/Mills station. Rancho Cordova city officials have stated the establishment of the stations will help in the development of transit-oriented development/redevelopment of the Folsom corridor through the city.

I like getting on and off here much better then the sunrise station for mostly the times of the day I'm off work and coming back to Rancho means these days it gets dark early but also the neighborhood feels a little less congested with all the folks on Folsom and highway 50 then sunrise all banging into each other at camera intersections, ON A FRIDAY. LOL I like that the RT ticket enforcers are a almost certainty for most of my trips. Check as many times as you need, I am just enthusiastic about the commitment and their crack down to free rider's, because aside from the $, it's a safety issue, keeps folks mindful that this is a privilege and also if I don't come to your work and make a message then pick up your trash, act appropriate and be aware for our safety.
These are becoming worse as we need them more.... I hope rt pulls it together
