Organized in 1882, Zion continues to be is a vital, active and alive congregation. Zion has about 325 Communicant adult members. Including children, there are about 425 members. Zion also operates a K-8 Day School, which presently serves 100 students.
Mission:
Zion will be recognized as a center for worship in the east bay. Our mission is to serve our community.

Zion is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod and the California/Nevada/Hawaii District.
Nationwide, there are 6000+ churches, 1000+ schools and 2.5 million members. The Concordia University system operates ten college campuses and two seminaries. There are also 365 missionaries in forty-five countries around the world.
Our mission is to serve our immediate parish community by implementing the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and ministering to the needs of God's people (Matthew 25:34-40).
In order to accomplish this, we will:
Aggressively reach into our community using all forms of communication available to tell the story of Jesus Christ.
Actively recruit new members who will be committed to Jesus Christ.
Educate children and adults in the baics truths of the Bible and how to live a Christian life.
Identify the diverse physical and spiritual needs of the congregation and community ans respond as we have talent, resources, and ability.
Provide an uplifting worship experience.
