The Zunis have a unique cultural history and place in the desert southwwest. Their high desert lands have a beauty unto themselves, much like the S.D. pueblos further north. It's a bit of a drive to visit the old pueblo area so stop in here first to get the info you need.
Well it's sad to say that our own Zuni people didn't seem to follow what our elders had set fourth long ago. When shalako come home to Zuni pueblo there are still restriction we Zunis still have to follow. On the far south side of Zuni where the shalako cross nobody is suppose to be within the area because of the shalako not full clothed for say yet there are a whole lot of vehicles park in the area. Which is sad to see. Remember my people there are taboo we all need to remember as well as blessing. To our elders in Zuni tell your children these restrictions and to follow all traditional beliefs.
