Ok coffee. Source their ingredients within 100 miles. Local is great. Their baking could be better, the pumpkin pie tasted like straight cloves, bland tasting tarts. I might return for coffee but their food leaves much to be desired. Update, food has improved. These guys are super nice. Try them out.
My “new” regular coffee and brunch spot near my office. I've been coming here daily for almost 2 years and have always been delighted, especially with the pies. Lunches are always tasty with a nice variety month to month as different local produce comes into season. Thanks Leda and crew @100milebakery, y’all are the best! the ginger oatmeal apple cookie is most scrumptious. .
I’ll give this place 5 stars for local, organic products and friendliness . 1 for coffee, coffee lacks aroma and flavor. A suggestion, owner needs to try hideawaybakery or perugino, just to get an idea of what costumer’s expectations are. Got a latte with almost no froth and it was overly sweet, it basically was like getting a weak medium roast coffee with lots of milk, very disappointing since I really like the place and the concept ‍. Another suggestion, get different coffee cups I.e latte cups it’ll help with the experience of getting a real cup of coffee. This is in response to the owner’s reply. Thank you for your response but I don’t understand your comments, would you mind explaining? “The coffee is real” I didn’t know there were fake coffees in the market, or is “Real” a brand? “Too sweet and weak” getting vanilla syrup in a latte should be slightly sweet and not overtake the flavor of coffee itself but the latte was unbearably sweet and lacked of froth, whoever made the coffee needs to be careful with the syrup and learn about froth. This supposed to be a helpful reviewer I did ask to have it remade and that’s how I end up having just plain coffee and realized that it lacks of flavor, body and aroma... at that point, do you think asking for “better richer coffee” would have been appropriate? “My lesson” ? As mentioned above I did ask. I’ve worked in the customer industry for over 7 years and I was hoping this to be a constructive criticism and it appears to me that the owner has taken this personal and no a way of improvement to benefit his/her business. -1
Best food in Springfield. I love the biscuit and mushroom gravy, and their chicken pesto salad. I also get a strawberry rhubarb bar whenever I go!
Loved my meatloaf sandwich and how friendly the staff was at explaining how everything is sourced within 100 miles pretty cool quaint spot.
I love 100 Mile Bakery - it is like a warm hug from a friend. I can always count on the fruit crumble bars and the bread to be absolutely delicious! Unlike other bakeries, I never feel the regret that comes from sugar overload - honey is the only sweetener they use! Also, I enjoy visiting throughout the year to see what new local ingredients are in season. 100 Mile makes eating local as easy as possible and the dishes are so creative and unique. I was even fortunate enough to have cupcakes from 100 Mile as the dessert at my wedding! The food is reason enough to go, but I also always run into friends and neighbors when I visit. The bakery is a great place to catch up and I sometimes feel like I'm attending an impromptu holiday feast with loved ones. The owner is very welcoming and cares deeply about the community. 100 Mile supports local farmers, artists, vintners, and beekeepers. This place is a true gem in the neighborhood!
Great staff, great food. I go there at least once a week. They have a wonderful selection of baked goods, teaor coffee, and lunch options. I even pick up some wine every now and again. They bring in art from locals which is fun. And the outside patio is a great people-watching spot in any weather. Anything made on the honey wheat bread is fabulous or just take a loaf home. It's a shame more people don't realize that this is just a block off of Main Street!
Great idea to source all bakery ingredients within 100 miles. I've had the sandwiches, quiche, pies and bread - all fantastic. Coffee, chai, and Italian sodas are excellent as well. Staff is friendly and professional. Limited seating outside but plenty of "patio" seating outside when weather is nice. Highly recommended.
This place makes me proud of Springfield. One of the most sustainable businesses in the area...and it just so happens that the quality of the food is amazing...without being bad for you! Cozy atmosphere, super friendly staff. Can't say enough good things about it, but I'm always spreading the word. Support this place!
I am so very grateful to have a bakery such as this to get the great opportunity to enjoy. Everything is always local and always fresh. A wonderful business concept with tremendous hard work and execution delivered every single day. The 100 Mile Bakery has THE best baked goodies and drinks around! My only wish was that I lived next door.
