12th St Oakland City Center BART Station

There are 3 platforms and changing the train is bit inconvenient some times. Station is at convenient location for many businesses places. At the entrance you see lots of bad smoking smell. Inside is bit okay. Escalators will be under maintenance many time. Better to take stairs, bit strainfull and time consuming to cross 2 floor if your coming or going from platform 2. If they keep the outer entrances clean from smokers it will be okay But can't avoid if you have to take bart.

At 12th st...just sittin here cuz something happened at Powell St. Station. As sooon as I start typin this, we pull off.. Good Morning!!

It's a busy place so you must pay attention to your surroundings. Some of the employees could definitely use a course in customer service! For the most part things run smoothly and on time. If you're new to BART just ask. Whether it be an employee or patron someone will have your answer.

I hope they remodel 12th st BART station as well as they are doing with the 19th st one.

One drawback to this stop for individuals with mobility challenges. The primary access to the first platform Antioch and Richmond trains from the main 12rh Street entrance is stairs. An elevator or escalator down to this level may exist at some other place in the station but I usually just take the stairs regardless, with difficulty. I'm not sure if BART can practically remedy this issue. It could be great if they could. Nevertheless, 12th St.Station is not as much of a navigation challenge as Rockridge Station with its daunting and flummoxing layout--for folks with restricted mobility, that is.

Pretty good station. It's important to realize there are 3 platforms here and that you may need to go yet one level deeper to reach the train you intend to board or to transfer to though in the latter case you may want to consider using one of the nearby timed transfer stations instead.

Federal bldg. Interior plaza. Beautiful outdoor place in the heart of DT Oakland. Watched swallow tail butterflies enjoying the primrose plantings.

Somedays are good and calm. Other days you have people who don't respect others. They have loud music, they smoke and they scream. So be prepare.

Never in my life been to Oakland , however I watch reruns of hangin with mr cooper and I love the theme intro with all the original buildings/propaganda . I guess it’s nostalgia

Cute little shopping area by the BART station. Jamba Juice there was good - see separate review. I went on a Saturday for a casual business meeting over a smoothie, and soon enough we had a woman who life hadn't been too kind to wander by asking us if there was a Bank of America on the way to the jail. Not my top choice of places to to go to, but pleasant enough with local shops.
