Got in accident last year and cop wouldn't let me retrieve other driver information at the scene. He rushed me to find tow driver while I was speaking to my insurance company on the phone. He was more friendly to other driver and listened to his stories longer. They put me at fault for accident until I retrieved the corner store video of other driver complete blown through stop sign on 17th and Jackson. Was very traumatizing situation as an Asian American that day.
I have never had a bad experience with the ladies and men in blue here. They were always punctual and pleasant to speak to. Whenever my children are outside and they are parked, they ALWAYS make sure to wave or flash their lights for the kids amusement. They also always ask to see if everything is alright if they see me sitting outside having a bad day. So no i don't see, in my opinion, as to why these good folk have such a low rating. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
I called to see if they were detaining some e I was worried about .. I called I spoke to one of the female officer over the phone yes this person is here who I was looking for , and I was trying to ask another question she hangs up !! Like was was bothering her for doing her job!! I am all for the boys in blue I support my local police ..but then again I just remember I live in New Jersey a small town .. and that’s why I moved out from filthadelphia !! It’s cops like her make other police officer looks bad … and they have to remember their job is to proctect and serve!! Remember officer we pay your salary!! Me aand all the tax payer !!
Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with a woman at the front bottom floor. I was treated with zero regard to my emergency situation, and was being very disrespectful at first. At the time, my emotional state was rattled, and instead of her being understanding, I was literally yelled at like a child. It escalated before it got better. It never should have gotten to that point to begin with. Then, I was confronted by another back office employee, who was working at the time note: neither of these people are police officers. He came out from behind the glass window, and, like a school techer, told me to "quiet down/calm down because I was disrupting the others upstairs working". Unbelievable, being I would think when I have an emergency situating concerning my safety and life. One would think they'd get a little more compassion and help from the local police department when in need. I truly thought I was being punk'd or something like that. It was nonsensical and absurdity at it's best. **Other than that poor experience, my various other dealings/interactions with the officers and special detectives in the 1st District especially the Lt. and the Sgt.--very kind and respectful men! is mostly positive. With over 100 officers in the district alone, you're eventually going to get a bad one, but overall my experiences with them unfortunately I have had to call 911 more than once were above average.
I have lived in the city 2 yrs 100' from their vehicle parking lot. This district isn't out to fix anything, and in that 100' there's 2 drug houses, residents just sit on there porch in plain view of police or walk to another porch so trouble doesn't follow them back to their resident I actually witness an officer make eye contact with someone and did nothing wish I was recording from that point on I have had my phone loaded ready to record for when I see what the thoughts would be by there supior. I'm going to start posting sleeping officers and there location cause they seem to park in the same place's a majority of the time. If it takes 19 minutes to respond to a call that's 100' from your building, something is diffently wrong somewhere. For the officer that threatened me because my vehicle was parked to close to the corner but had no answer for personal vehicle at the intersection I hope you are one of my photo post. I have never been in trouble with the law, with the exception of a speeding ticket once in awhile.
Our PHL finest in Blue first district police are simply the best! Nice , kind and approachable always available to serve & protect. I feel very fortunate to live within the 1st district protection. South Philadelphia & Girard Estates is awesomeness... cheers always S
"Steve" is laughably naive if he thinks this police department, I mean gang, deserves five stars. Over 2,000 of these thugs have been exposed by the media in just the past few decades sources: Philadelphia Daily News, Wikipedia. For instance, Officers Kevin Robinson and Sean McNight were recently fired for brutalizing an innocent man, but that was only because the whole thing was caught on video. Imagine how many other citizens were harmed by these cowards but there are no videos to prove it.
lived in the 1st district for 30 years through the good, the bad, and the ugliness of it but in the end for the most part a great bunch of guys putting their lives in harms way every day to keep us safe. i pray for there safety and their health. be careful out there guys and gals, men and woman of the PPD. i,ve seen what you all go through. i never forgot the changes that came along under the new sheriff in town, Captain Louis "uncle louie" Campione abd hid staff that that was under him. God bless you all. Peace to all. Happy Holidays, and New Years. keep doing what your doing. from Steve Horvath formerly of 2006 s. Opal street. again be careful, be safe, dont rush into anything. Former Pvt. E-1 USMC 1970, Semper Fidelis In Jesus' name, Amen.
