I happen to stop at this location to kill time with a workout and glad I did. First let me say for anyone shopping for a membership, you get a far better deal through Costco if you have a membership or get one for this deal because it’s worth it for sure. Even the sales guys advs Costco price is far better that they aren’t able to beat. This location is in a decent part of town and it’s clean with ample equipment. I loved the men’s locker room because it was open and the showers didn’t have liners That are often times dirty but they are alternately sectioned off for privacy. They offer a towel and sweat towel service that was a bonus! I wished all the locations offered this service. Steam room, sauna and jacuzzi were all in functioning order. I try to visit different locations so I can compare. I will try to add for the others to help readers decide. Not all the locations are in bad shape. Some need a little more TLC while others are kept in good shape. This location is definitely one of my favs.
This 24 Hour Fitness is one of their Sports clubs. It is rather old and in some ways shows it, but in the past year they have made considerable progress on fixing some of the problems. The old rusty lockers in the dressing rooms have been completely replaced with new ones that can’t rust. The showers, locker rooms, gym and equipment are now being frequently cleaned and I’ve heard other customers commenting positively about that. All the old treadmills have been replaced with newer models and they all work. There are still some issues that need to be resolved, such as inadequate air circulation around some elliptical trainers, but this is a much nicer gym than it was a year ago, thanks to the new manager, Josh.
Actually, regarding Huckleseed's review, this location has been a 24 Hour Fitness for several years.... and yes, what happened to Quincy and his wife is entirely believable. This gym is okay. Not great. Not bad. Some staff are excellent. Other staff members treat their job as if it were their social hour, and treat clients as if we're disturbing them. This gym could use serious updating - a bathing suit dryer like I've seen at many other clubs would be great. As would better air conditioning in the aerobics classes... those rooms get insanely hot inside. They are rather slow to fix broken equipment. At times the bathrooms aren't very clean. One of the toilet seats in the women's locker room is old, paint chipping off, stained, looks really gross, and it would only be $15 to replace the seat. The location is so-so, the parking lot gets really busy and there's only one place to enter/exit. So, there are a LOT of potential improvements that could be made.
This gym is older, somewhat dingy and has a slightly more dated interior than other 24 Hour Fitness locations. There is a wide selection of equipment and classes. On a more positive note, cleanup and small renovations have been attempted over the past couple of years. Some of the employees are very unfriendly and act as if you’re interrupting their smartphone browsing time.
Very dirty gym throughout. From the moldy locker room to the stained and tattered carpet in the workout area, this gym needs a renovation badly. The headphone jacks on all the treadmills do not work very well, if at all. Edit: The new renovations look great. Treadmills still need some work but the locker room improvements and workout area flooring is much better.
Its a great place to workout at, they always have clean towels for your workout as you walk in which I like. They do keep this facility clean which is a plus cause a dirty gym is no bueno. It would be so awesome if it was 24/hours at least 6 Days a week.
Gym was recently updated which is nice but the location an equipment are kind of worn. The staff is very friendly but I had an error by one of them cost me $60. I attepted to freeze my account in May because I was moving. Once I found out there was no 24's in my area I decided to cancel my membership. I was charged for both May and June where the freeze was suppose to be in place. They had no record of a freeze and said it was not in their policy to give refunds. If you are leaving the gym, do not put a freeze on your account, just cancel it.
Let's start. I'm sure there are other better, cleaner gyms around where you can choose from. I go to the the gym to work out. As long as the workout equipments work then perfect! People complain about every little thing nowadays, ooh the equipments are dirty, the fountain ain't working blah blah blah. Just shut up already and lift something. Wear head phones if you don't want to hear other people. All I can say is this is a good place to work out. It's that simple people. If you want a near perfect place maybe you should just stay at home!
I have held a membership here for 12 years. The club has never gone through any type or renovation or upgrade. The locker rooms are atrocious and extremely unsanitary. In the twelve years, the Steam Room has worked only 30% of the time and the tile work is broken so be very careful if you don't wear sandals. During the workout, don't count on the air conditioning to be very strong. It is typically, they want your good money and do not care to return a decent environment to work out in.
I was a member for close to 2 years. The place has everything you need to get a good workout in but it needs a make over quick. We recently left due to the equipment being in disrepair. If you're expecting an operating room for a gym then you may as well stay at home. The place is dirty, but it's a gym... My biggest problem is the trainers that walk right past trash on the floor and no one picks up weights. I've heard them talk about closing and remodeling. Do that and I may come back. I did get an email that said my rate was being raised so they could hire more staff but minus Q, all the girls at the desk just sit on the counter playing on their phones. Not an effective use of my money.
