Having been a member for 10 plus years As well as being an employee for 5, I have never seen such poor customer service and imcompetent employees. I brought in a friend with a 3 day pass and was demanded to pay $20 for the day because We didn't bring a rental agreement to prove we were locals. Not only did they not offer a tour or ask any further questions about goals or interest but continued to ask for a payment. It's completely unprofessional to cut off a customer when theyre speaking and asking for the bare minmum of checking out the gym for the day on their first visit. The Manager could care less not wearing uniform or a name tag. They're front desk attendant also not in uniform with no original thought or consideration but continuing to read off a script. I can't wait to cancel and I wouldn't recommend 24hr fitness to absolutely anyone especially visiting or living in santa cruz. Not only does this gym barely have the basic amenities as a sport location but half their shower stalls are out of service and most machines are under maintenance.
While I go to this gym regularly because of the location and line of equipment, the weights are heavily worn and used to the point where I can't be sure if the weight on the label is accurate. Employees are consistently unhelpful, not only at this location but at every 24 Hour Fitness location I've been to since commissions incentivize creative methods for scamming and manipulating paying people. If you want to bring a guest, even with a membership they make you pay $20 for the DAY. Don't try to reason with them, their managers encourage them. Any other gym, AnyTime Fitness, LA Fitness, InShape, etc will treat you better for less money. That's just the truth.
I used to love this gym, and I’ve been a member on and off for a couple years now. I signed up for this gym THINKING it would be open 24 hours. It’s not. This gym either needs to rebrand and lower their prices, or go back to being open 24 hrs. I will be looking for another gym to go to since this one cannot fulfill my needs. It’s been 3 years, and the national emergency for covid ended on May 11th and there’s still no sign of this gym returning to being open for 24 hours. It’s kind of ridiculous that I’m paying $55 a month for a gym that’s advertised as being open for 24 hours, but it’s not. It seems like every single 24 hour fitness except for the one in Santa Cruz is open for 24 hours. I just got turned away because they’re closing at 9pm. Even the UCSC gym closes later than that. And I’m going to have to go all the way to San Jose just to use a gym now. Not a happy camper.
Friendly staff, but the amount of no-shirt-wearing, no-shoe wearing in that gym is quite frankly disgusting. And the smoun6 of people who sit glued to their cellphones hogging the machines and not even working out while they check their IG is a joke. Mix in the extremely trashy and dangerous parking lot where they let tweakers work on their cars AND live it makes for a varied experience.
0/10 would not recommend Parking lot is terrible, place is dirty, lack of equipment, not even 24 hours, closes at 8pm on weekends, awful community dude shirtless in the checkin area, had zero gains no reason to have his shirt off, homeless people chillin inside. Definitely has a $10 a month price tag quality. Go elsewhere.
ENFORCE YOUR OWN RULES, PLEASE!! NASTY CRUSTY BARE FEET ALL OVER THE TURF WHERE PEOPLE LAY THEIR HEADS??!! WHAT ABOUT OTHER MEMBERS? DO YOU GUYS EVEN CARE?!!! SMH
This gym has plenty of parking and welcoming staff. It’s clear their making a concerted effort to keep the general areas clean. Their cardio machines are plenty, free weight area was a bit crowded. Wished there were more leg machines however overall good place to workout while on vacation. Their ladies restrooms were a bit overused and seemed damp and dirty consistently needing attention.
This place is disgusting it smelt like rotten sandwich that had been sitting there for years my friends that go the told me the manager is a real piece of work and is very rude and after my experience with her I can confirm this the water was very mercy and had a few white chunks u would never recommend going here it is truly desgusting and the manager was very rude
Events Observed: Fri28Oct2022 - Overhaul Issues. *** Site suffers in comparison to modern gyms; even to other 24hr locations. - Safety issues. *** Limited equipment availability; bent barbells observed. - Better business practice issues. *** Hours still not updated online; no sign was posted outside. Summary: *** Driving 30 minutes to get here to 'get it when you can' and find the "24-Hour" facility closed was disappointing. *** To those who are dedicated, and can't train regular hours... take your motivation and business else where. *** I'll update review if opportunity occurs.
Out of all the 24 hour fitness this is by far the least kept. Always dirty and change rooms are shocking. I've travelled a lot so like the super sport gums but I have no clue why this is a super sport. First time in over ten years I've looked at other gym membership. Equipment is broken so often. Sign in picture saying will be fixed today has been there over a week.
