This is a nice place to step back in time if you are an X-Gen or Baby Boomer. It definitely reminds you of the good old days. You drive up, pay $10/person, they tell you what color pole to park at, you turn off your headlights, park, tune into the radio station and watch the movie. The screen is a bit small. Get there early!! The early bird definitely gets the pole! The popcorn wasn't great, but we ate it and talked about old times. The medium Coke was huge. It was a nice experience though. Memories...Wow, it was a great Saturday evening out!
MY TIPS FOR MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR EXPERIENCE: -COME EARLY. chances are higher to get a better spot and can secure snacks before the film starts -INVEST IN A portable FM RADIO. it'll save your gas & battery. the station is 93.7 -CAMPING CHAIRS for groups 2+. the back of your SUV is only comfortable until you start to cramp and need a better view of the screen -BUG SPRAY. tbh i didn't really need it but my friends did They used to show 3 films for $8, but since this is America and Hollywood wants their money... you know. But $10/2 is still a spankin deal. Their food IS MIDDDD- middle school cheeseburgers in the checkered package you know what I mean. Definitely buy your popcorn and candies there but if you're trying to get full, eat before or sneak in your big dinner box from Pizza Hut. THEIR WEBSITE IS ACCURATE, so dont just take my word for it It's the only local drive-in left near Denver so I try to cherish it. It's got its downs but overall I've always had good time with good company.
Worth the experience. The price is fair but you have to arrive hours early to get a spot. People not parking where they are supposed to, poor bathrooms, okay snacks. It's a good time with the family though and Worth the experience.
I would have rated this a 5 but we were asked to park in a designated area where people who arrived earlier had taken up all of the spaces-not with their cars but with their lawn chairs. It was challenging to find a spot in the specified area. We were able to move to a more favorable space once people exited after the first show for a better view of the screen. The pricing is affordable and the workers are friendly. The snack bar offers a wide variety of fun affordable treats that will mess up anyone's diet, however partake anyway because the snack bar provides a fair flow of income which keeps this rare drive-in venue open at a time when outdoor, fun, and affordable-kids 12 and under are free- entertainment is limited!
This place is very cool to see movies in and I love the fact they had a double feature for $10 a person. Here are some of the downfalls. 1. During summer it doesn't get dark til after movies start causing image to be washed out a bit. 2. Our time there was during a storm and we just had to leave you couldn't even see the movie with wipers going. Not their fault just a heads up to check weather. 3. The concessions stand def needs to improve their game the sheer amount of flies and bugs all over their area made it so unappetizing. Got a Funnel Cake and it tasted as if it wasn't fresh but just reheated in a microwave. They had plenty of fly strips available to use I could see them, but only one was placed up and it was jammed pack of flies. If so much of your revenue comes from concessions you guys need to figure this out! Close the doors. Hang more fly strips. Get a bug zapper or something cause, I don't trust any food from you until you get the bugs under control.
So much fun!! My kid broke his leg and had to have surgery. Dad & I were pretty tired from lifting him and his wheelchair in and out of the car. We thought this would be a great compromise. We get to do something fun without the morning back aches. I haven't been to a drive-in in forever. We had a blast! I had never been here before and I wished there had been a parking lot attendant. I didn't know what they meant by the colors and a car left their headlights on shining in our windshield for the first 10 minutes of the movie. But once everyone was settled, it was perfect. I actually preferred sitting in my own seating and having the fresh night breeze over being in a stuffy theatre. And now we're a family of drive-in movie goers that can't go back!
You can tell the theater is a bit aged by the drive and parking lot being riddled with holes. Staff seems pretty nice as well. Parking instructions handed out differed from the instructions given on the screen so that was a bit confusing, but no harm no foul take up the whole space. Even in the darkest of night the screen was at best subtly lit. Dark scenes that came up, use your imaginations. Tried to get better parking, and not sure if it was my vehicle, the lighting storm super-charging the air or the theaters rental of that specific frequency, but instead of suffering through the rest of a dark thriller with the constant undertone of static we left. But what a great experience, there is nothing like a drive-in and we'll do it again, just on another night. Really enjoyed the outing and the location. Places like this need more business to make it better than it once was so we can keep em around.
Nostalgia... I took my 2 little girls for the first time and they absolutely loved it! Easy to get in & simple format to park. Their concession stand sells a ton of different food and it's pretty good. The price of admission covers 2 movies: the first is family friendly and the second is adult, perfect set-up. Get there early, it fills up quickly.
Only $8/person! What an incredible night. Three movies, lots of friendly people, and a convenient set up! The only down side was lines for food and bathroom. I definitely recommend bringing your own snacks and food if possible. Don’t be discouraged if you only have a car, parking is arranged by vehicle height. Will be returning as often!
Three stars because: 1 assigned area for vehicle type = failure. No matter how we shifted our seats we couldn’t see the full screen, 2 concessions = failure. Staff did not use a number system to manage customer orders so service was terrible. If you go. Arrive very early to get a decent parking spot and bring your own snacks despite the request to purchase from concession stand. Don’t forget bug spray!!’
