I have never visited a better drive-in than Sauerbeck Family Drive-In and do not expect the undisputed drive-in champions ever to be dethroned. This place has it all: double features; a good mix of modern movies and classics; abundant, spacious parking; clean bathrooms; good food; courteous staff; and generally good drive-in culture although staff always could clamp down more on cars who leave their lights on for extended periods of time during movies. I've been to Sauerbeck many times and intend to continue. It's something I look forward to every summer and fall. By the way, if you bring your own food please pay for the "food license" despite any urge you may have to buck the system so as to keep this local treasure more than afloat.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DRIVE IN!!! From the snack bar, clean facilities, helpful & polite team members and the movie choices, this place has it all at a very affordable price. We will definitely go back and bring our Aunt and Uncle to feel nostalgic at the drive in movies!!
Fabulous Family Experience! This night could have ended completely different, but thanks to the 17 year old employee who is soon to be married. My family ended the night on a great note with a good experience. We went to check out the new drive-in and it did not disappoint! We started at the snack stand. They had the usual popcorn, nachos, candy, slushies. But also a bar and nice bathroomsdon't steal the damn soap. The sound comes through your car speakers, but I suggest you rent a speaker because we watched 2 whole movies and then my car wouldn't start. I immediately called AAA at 3am. Wait time 45 minutes. While waiting I went to visit those nice restrooms I spoke about earlier, and before I could use that fancy soap my family had let me know that this fantastic 17 year old was there to save the day with a charger for my battery. Before AAA could get dispatched we were on the way home, with some new summer memories. I highly suggest you look at the upcoming schedule and plan a trip to make some memories of your own. And thank you to that guy that helped us.
My entire family absolutely love Sauerbeck! The facilities are clean, pricing is very reasonable for our family of 6, concessions are 2nd to none! If you are looking for good family memory making, look no further! I have messaged them several times for movie inquiries and requests, they always get right back with me and accommodate so well. Such a fantastic place, I've even asked for an annual pass!
Tonight 10-21-2020, Back to the Future Night was my first visit here, it was also my last. I left during the first movie the experience was so bad. Here is the story. Earlier in the day, I bought admission and food through the website. When I get to the gate, the guy there doesn't have the list of prepaid customers and has to look it up, which he couldn't do but just took my word on it since I had the barcode. When I get parked I go to get my prepaid food, check-in at the tent. After waiting for 10 minutes in line, I make it to the cashier. She tells me she can't do that right know because of a "sponsorship thing" as she said. I told her I had 6:30 as a pickup but she didn't care so I got nothing but attitude. Lots of people were walking around with no face coverings either which was ridiculous, no enforcement of rules. I know more get back to my car and a van pulls in about 10 feet away and they put chairs between me and them. The employee in the lot made me move because I was too close to them even though I was there first and chairs between cars are not allowed supposedly but they do it anyway so I begrudgingly move. It's been maybe 30 minutes since I didn't get my food so I went back up to the tent and this time was told I could get my food. The girl in the green shirt who brought it out was nice and polite. All is good for maybe 45 minutes then people start parking in front of me during the movie. They don't have rows just cones sitting here and there. The parking lot is a flat, gravel lot which means if a large vehicle parks in front of you, well you won't see the movie. That's what happened to me. I just said hell with it and left. I looked forward to coming here but after tonight I will never come back here. Instead, I will stick to my regular drive-ins which are much better than this one. BTW, do not buy through their website you don't save any time plus it's more expensive with the fees added on.
I've been going here for several years and my family has done Trunk'Or'Treat there for the last couple of years. It's a pretty awesome place. They have pretty decent food at the concession stand, especially the french fries. They have jumper packs in case your car battery dies, and have radios for rent in case you forgot one if you chose to do that instead of using your car radio. Restrooms have always been very clean in my experiences. The only complaint you might have is the occasional set if head lights turning on. Thats something that happens at drive in theatres though, so it's not something you can formally complain about. It is what it is.
Such a great place to enjoy movies myself and with the little kids. The extras for the holidays really make my kids so happy, like seeing the Easter Bunny and The Conductor really made the Polar Express experience for my little girl. Concessions are also very tasty and reasonably priced, so you don't have to worry about spending an arm and a leg for popcorn and snacks.
Big shout out to staff member, Cody. My friend and I visited last night and experienced car trouble after the final movie ended. Cody stayed with us for close to an hour helping us with our car and waiting with us until someone came to help. He could not have been more patient and helpful!
My family always has a great time at the drive-in! It’s a great place for family fun for a low cost. The drive-in even has swing-sets for kids to play at! Plus, there is a concession stand with great food and variety to get snacks and candy.
Went for the first time last night and we had soooo much fun! The snack bar had tons of choices, and everything we tried soft pretzel with cheese dip, blue bell cotton candy ice cream, popcorn, airheads, Diet Coke was really good! Restrooms were clean and everyone around us were kind and courteous during the movie. Can’t wait to go back again.
