If I could give it 0 stars I would. Firstly it is not a hotel at all, but an apartment block. There was no one at reception. There was no hospitality at all. We changed rooms as first room didn't have working lights light bulbs missing from bathroom moved to a second room which had dirty bed linen. It is not at all what it was put across to be on the website. There was so much noise from the surrounding clubs that we couldn't sleep until 5am on our first night and by 9pm on our second night we realised we had to leave and could thankfully be accommodated with friends. Now requesting a refund for the last 3 nights that we couldn't spend there. Absolutely atrocious accommodation and false advertising.
There are thieves in this hotel, perhaps even the staff themselves, and absolutely no accountability for this, starting with the owner on down. I had multiple things stolen from my room - portable chargers, adapters, a pair of nice pants, really any item that has quick and easy re-sale value. The security downstairs has no coordination or interest in the hotel. There's sort of a chilled out and 'i don't care' vibe, and the fact that someone was able to access my room and steal multiple items is very disturbing. Worst of all Bonga, who works at this hotel could not have cared less and actually tried to avoid talking with me about what occurred. Don't stay here.
This was my very first time in Maboneng & I absolutley love the place! before anything, I love that it is in a central spot where restuarants & Nightclubs are available, we got hungry after midnight as was able to find food which is great, then I would love to compliment the Staff more especially Bonga, he went over & above for us, excellent service , he really deserves a nice raise & is an asset to your hotel, Our room was super clean, the bed & bedding was of good quality, the hotel is aesthically pleasing & the choice of piainting hanging in the lobby to the lift was well chosen, beautiful! If you're looking for a real Jozi Experience go stay here, our room was directly opposite Jojos Rooftop w alot more exposure to the noise but we enjoyed it so much when we were getting ready to go out, it was like a pre party setting, slept very well through that noise too & didn;t mind it much, I;m sure there re quiet rooms but we chose that room because we liked how it looked & that we are young & that gave us another amazing 6 nights worth of memories & dancing in the shower so thank you for that, the biggest con i would have is that there is no wifi available other than that, you guys are doing really well!
I checked reviews and I'm wondering if coming to your space is a good idea, safety for my belongings and guests is number 1 priority, how safe is your place, booked for today 9 December for my birthday dinner
The room was bigger than I expected and very clean. The receptionist Bonga was very helpful and very kind. He even assisted me with a night lamp which was much appreciated. Over all I really enjoyed my stay will definitely be coming back some day.Rooms: 5/5
We booked and payed for three nights, but we run out after one night. The place is dirty, dusty walls, uncovered electric wires my son got a slight electric shock, bed sheets covered with stains.. not even close to the pictures they are publish. The place is in a busy street, on the positive side it is hectic and full of energy but very noisy.
If I could leave zero stars I would. From poor communication and customer service to terrible Wi-Fi, I could truly share 100 reasons why one should stay away from this God-forsaken establishment. I planned to stay until December in one of the penthouses on the 7th floor - but I cut my stay short after only one week. For starters, I was quoted R10000, which was then increased to R12000 one can only assume it’s because I’m American. I let that go because I truly loved the apartment. The apartment was fine, but it could be cleaned and organized a bit. The lights in the living room didn’t work and had to be replaced this didn’t happen until the next day. The noise is literally insane. It’s like you’re in the club across the street. Noise reducing windows could help this. The other issue is safety - security LETS ANYONE IN. And I mean ANYONE. The lobby area is filled with locals who have access to everyone floor of the hotel. There are no clearances or security measures in place in one of Johannesburgs most dangerous neighborhoods. And then there is the Wi-Fi - which would automatically cut out because “two many users would sign on.” And once you alert staff, it will be an hour before you hear back. Before moving in, I explained that I would never stable Wi-Fi and they assured me that it would work. The Wi-Fi went out everyday during my week long stay. Thank God for Kay who was super accommodating and helpful - though there was very little he could do. I was forced to work from PataPata for hours because the building wifi wouldn’t work. When I told them I had to leave because the building isn’t safe and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work, instead of being accommodating and apologetic and charged me the prorated rate, the charged me almost R1000 per day for the 7 days i was there. On the day I was moving out, I misplaced the key and they made me pay R350 to change the lock. WHAT HOTEL DOESN’T HAVE SPARE KEYS? And what hotel makes guests pay to change the locks? Although customer service is AWFUL and the staff never replies in a timely manner or at all, I just say that Kay is truly a gem. He is literally the best thing that happens to this place. PLEASE GIVE HIM A RAISE. He was so kind and compassionate and did everything he could to help me during this horrible experience. Very grateful for him. Bonga is nice too. Let’s be honest, they will probably ignore this review like they ignore my text messages about Wi-Fi not working.
Very nice and clean affordable and beautiful Please install TV There was no TV in my room.but it was a good roomRooms: 4/5
The rooms are clean and big. They work together with Curiocity Backpackers. Unfortunately the tv didn't work. We got a key that you can open all the other rooms, super strange! We told them this at the reception, it doesn't feel save that everybody can enter each others rooms.. They told us that they will change our key, but they didn't. Another thing was that there is a lot of noice because of all the bars outside. And also there is a lot of the time nobody available at the reception.
The room looked super cool, absolutely unique with the art pieces. Beautiful view. Most comfortable bed. Great amenities. The shower was a let down. A bit of maintenance is required on it or even replace the tiling completely and sort out the drain. The TV was not working. But overall a good budget place for an overnight stay
