Very cool building but unfortunately nothing actually going on. Came here on a Sunday midday - which is in theory prime time - but all studios were shuttered many with “for sale” signs, and there’s nothing else to see. The restaurant in the courtyard was open but empty. Fox Street itself was quite lively though.

It’s a very cool neighborhood if you enjoy street art. Many cool graffiti and artworks around though walking around might feel a bit unsafe as a tourist.

The vibe in this part of Johannesburg on a Sunday afternoon is really awesome! I do feel though that there is a reluctance to improve basic aspects such as proper and adequate seating in the market under the guise of being true to the rustic and hippie nature of the place. Food options in the market are pretty interesting and decently priced - usually about R70 per serving. The bar on the roof top is always very poorly stocked so don't expect fancy options. R44 will buy you a single shot plus a chaser in a plastic tumbler with ice. After 4pm the place gets really packed with a lot of very experienced and skilled dancers. A lot of the people are regulars and know each other from their respective dance clubs already. Incredibly friendly people all around... but don't mistake the friendliness and someone asking you to dance for flirting. It is also not a great idea to go as a couple if only one of you is a dancer and the one who isn't a dancer does not understand what is really going on there... rather both attend dance class first which is less of a culture shock in terms of personal space invasion. You will quickly realize that the selection of dance partners here has nothing to do with skin colour, age or gender. Naturally, men are predominantly paired with women but because of a lack of enough dancing men to go around, women tend to pair up on the dance floor as well. There are some craft shops as well that might pique your interest - take a look around!

Enjoyed a great Sunday afternoon eating, drinking and buying all kinds of local crafts. This is a must visit if you are looking for a fun Sunday morning or afternoon. The Market on Main closes at 4:30 but there are plenty of other places in the neighborhood that stay open later.

One of the most gorgeous venues in downtown Jhb. Has more than enough seating areas and many corners to explore Covered in greenery and full of gorgeous views.

Sadly, Seems to me this place closed down. I believe before Covid it was worth while to go there. One side you can enter on the other side it is very dirty and locked up.

Very nice chilled place, Preferably go on sunday for Coffee or Brunch and Catch a book while at it .They have Nice books,the aura is tranquil.People working there are also great and welcoming,would go again.

Great venue for an intimate wedding. Staff are helpful with setting up. Menu is very simple and the bar is averagely stocked. But good venue for a great party in the heart of the city.

Main street cleaned up nicely, at firt you feel a bit weary to get out of the car but as ok 'n as photographer I clicked away
