Cubs meet once a week and are learn life skills while interacting with other children of their age. They work towards various skill and interest badges based on their age which are based on learning skills ranging from growing a garden, learning how things work, how to cook as well as enjoy the outdoors.
Many of the traditions and names in Cubs are based on Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. For example, the leader in charge of your Pack is called Akela, other leaders (called Scouters) have names like Baloo and Bagheera.
