Africa 2000 Country Lodge

Great venue for corporate events and social events. My company held a work retreat/workshop. The breakfast and tea meals were great. Fruit and finger snacks were fresh. The facilities are clean and well kept outside the lawn. The staff is friendly and ready to serve. Lunch we were served main meal and dessert. My only let down was with the freshness of the sweet corn and potatoes. They just tasted off…sort of like they have been warmed many times. But overall, the experience was good!

This place is incredible. The staff are beyond compare. They honestly go above and beyond for their guests. The scenery is stunning and the food great. Rooms are also wonderful. You can run a nice trail around the dam and safely so. I would make this my preferred choice when in the area.Rooms: 5/5

The country lodge is allocated right across from Irene farm. The lodge is beautiful with a lake and walking trails. There are Lakeside trails, forest trails and one can walk across to the farm for breakfast or coffee. There is also a spa. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. There are Lakeside rooms with the view to the lake xnd forest view rooms. The gardens are wide and peaceful. The lodge hosts team building activities year end functions and conferences for companies. There is a lounge, a bar and many other facilities

Very nice property, a green oasis. It can be busy with events, so you may be not allowed in all areas of the hotel. Super friendly staff, 5* for the people.

Even though i went there to capture a 60th birthday party,I Loved the environment. The food was well prepared and tasty. A nice place to host your private function.Service: 4/5

Always wanted to stay at the African Pride Irene Country. An absolutely beautiful and romantic place with incredible views. Rooms are spacious and cosy. But Im bitterly disappointed by the poor service. Staff generally seem unhappy to be there. We arrived and received such a poor welcome. Poured ourselves "welcome drinks" and waited to be assisted. Once checked-in nobody offered to assist with luggage etc. After asking we did however get help. The room though cosy needs general maintenance in the bathroom. Towels are so old that they are no longer white. We decided to go for a morning stroll to find all walkways covered in duck poop that have accumulated over a long period. Even the picnic tables were covered in poop. So overall a rather disappointing experience and not the standard we had hoped for.

I go here very often for work functions. This venue beats 5* places I have been to. They serve the best breakfast I have had in years. There desserts are exquisite when enjoying lunch and the rooms are fit for a queen. Will keep going back.Rooms: 5/5

Opulence at its best. From seamless check in to divine food to spacious and gorgeous rooms to the friendliness of the employees. Its all just awesome. I'll definitely visit again. Rooms: Spacious and luxurious. Nearby activities: There's a farm nearby where kids can go to for some fun. Still to check out more. The lodger has a gym as well. Food & drinks: Absolutely divine, trust me, I love food and this place ticks all the boxes.

My wife and I spend a night here for my birthday! What a lovely place, delicious food, bird viewing and tunnel to Irene Farm! Also lots of activities. Will go back any time!Rooms: 4/5

The experience was two fold: the room was beautiful. The golden nightlight in the bathroom was so dope. The decor was warm, modern yet inviting. The room could use an Nespresso machine for coffee lovers. The bed and sheets were tres comfortable. We loved that the toilet and the shower were separate. However, I gave the service 2 stars for a number of reasons: 1. I paid in advance and sent a POP but they asked me for card details on arrival because apparently "You never know." They said I could reverse the POP or it could be fake, which was a first for me. 2. I asked them to prep the room as a surprise for my partner. Sent an email confirming everything. When we arrived nothing was prepared and they didn't even mention it. It's like I didn't ask at all. Hella disappointing. 3. R100 extra for room service to deliver the food to the room ???? 4. Our waitress was not about us at all during breakfast. And the kicker? It wasn't busy at all. Overall: Mixed bag. I expected from this hotel because they're under the Marriot group. Would definitely go back if they improve on their service.
