Akabeko Boutique Hotel and Spa

The room was stylish and comfortable. The food was good and staff were very friendly. However, there seems to be a lack of staff training from management. The staff were not able to provide any information regarding the surrounding area and possible activities or even pricing of activities at the hotel itself. I think the hotel would benefit from some more involvement from management and providing some training to the friendly and eager staff. Although this is meant to be a 5 star place the lack of management shines through and leaves you thinking that it has so much potential but at the end of it a let down.

For an amature golfer like me, this is very technical course but amazing! The greens are prestine. The service top notch. What an amazing day.Service: 5/5

Really enjoyed our stay at this superb venue. The rooms are very stylish and meets most comforts that one could wish for. Food is well prepared and tasty. Highly recommended.

My partner treated me to a stay at this hotel for my birthday last year. Even though he confirmed that we’d be coming specifically for the fly fishing where they assured him that they had stocked their dam, this was not the case when we got there. We had to drive out to actually go fishing. The staff were friendly but not as attentive as expected from a 5 star hotel. The food was disappointing in that it was super slow, pricey but entirely underwhelming in presentation and taste. We couldn’t understand why the service was so slow when the number of units and guests are so limited. I even had to ask for bread the one evening because we’d been waiting for over an hour for our meal. The architecture and environment is beautiful. During our winter visit, the lit fireplaces were lovely and created a cosy atmosphere. The unit was well decorated and kitted out but the bath tub that looked so inviting is non functional. We were told that the geyser does not have capacity to fill the tub so we couldn’t use it! This made no sense to us. The cheap blinds in the shower were broken and the tiles in the bathroom weren’t clean. The breakfast that’s included was fair but I thought it cheeky to charge additionally for cappuccinos with advising us before hand and these were served warm, not hot. Overall, this place doesn’t live up to 5 star status and overpriced for what it actually is.

If I could give this hotel 7 stars I would. From the owner, to the staff and facilities, everything was exceptional. There is so much of love and attention to detail put into every aspect of this place. The suites are some of the best I've seen in South Africa and nothing is too much of trouble for the owner. The private suites are perfect for a getaway in or out of covid and offer such a luxurious experience. The chef accommodated and understood our halaal requirements to perfection. We would visit over and over again and recommend this to anybody who needs a weekend away. Thank you for creating the perfect weekend away

The Hospitality and friendlyness from all the staff was amazing.Accolades to Christine and Dave for the Gourmet food that we enjoyed .The taste the presentation is something to experience. We were told that their is a waterfall which is quite a spectacular seen .We decided to take it on.What a view although a distance to walk.On our way back we were spoiled with an ice cold beer from the owners Monja and JP .T tranquility of the accomodation and the stylish interior is a must. You will see us soon. You can put this on your bucket list

A beautiful boutique hotel. Chef Lucas food deserves a 7star rating. Staff hospitality leaves no stone unturned when delivering a unique experience for each guest. No telephones between rooms and main hotel with no wifi or cellular signal in rooms is the only negative experience. Chef Lucas turned what would have been a 3.5 star rating into a 5 star experience and rating. I am adding this hotel on my favourite list for South Africa.
