Amped is a youth development talent competition and workshops aimed at South African high school students that culminates in a full day music festival - showcasing South Africa’s finest.
The Amped objective is to develop the Youth of South Africa at grassroots level through edutainment.
The Amped team hosts and organizes a full scale talent shows at each participating school.
The Amped film crew will shoot these talent shows and each act will be posted on the Amped website for students, family, friends andm the public to vote for their favourite act.
The Amped workshops give the students in-depth knowledge of different facets of the entertainment industry, including the business of entertainment and Entrepreneurial skills from a theoretical and practical approach - training under South African and international experts.
How AMPED works
- Group Workshops/Master Classes with other high school students at Wits University.
- Bespoke filmed Talent Audition at each participating high school.
- Final Event Under 19 Festival with established International and South African artists.
AMPED DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS #1 and #2
Through 2 Saturday Group Workshops at Wits University, all participating High School students, whether competing or not can attend master classes facilitated by International and South African Entertainment Professionals in
• Brand building - What is a brand? How do I make my brand work for me? Social media?
• Dance - practical and theoretical knowledge - how to be a successful performer
• Vocals - Singing/Rapping/Beatbox - vocal techniques including breath control
• Presenting - What it takes to be the glue that holds any event or show together
• Amped4Change - building yourself from the inside out - this class addresses social ills affecting South African youth
All learners of participating schools are invited as most love music and like to dance and it’s an excellent way to help build self-esteem and social skills.
