Amz Pet/House Sitters

Although we found a wonderful couple to watch our dog and home, there was some accidental damage that totaled $485. The website states that the owner and sitter must contribute $250 towards the damage. When I talked to a Trustedhousesitter representative, they said they don't cover damage under $1000 and anything over the $1000 must be submitted to your homeowners policy. The contents coverage they say they offer is a SCAM.................

As is true for any of these P2P sites, if everything works, it's great. That was my thought upon coming home and finding my dog safe. I was so relieved I wrote a 5 star review for the house sitter despite some earlier issues. With that said, I found substantial damage in my house. I contacted Trusted House Sitters to see if I could change the review + to file a claim. Something supposedly that I could do as I paid for the premium membership. After a day, I got a message saying I could NOT change the review why? and that provided no help with the claim. I've tried to call 3 times and have been hung up on each time after a lengthy wait. I've contacted them 4 more times including through chat, which only provides chatbot links to the website which...tell me to contact them. The role and the reason I paid nearly $300 for this... of a site is to interact with the members and solve these problems. But Trusted House Sitters does none of this. I would have been as well off posting a "want to stay in my house for free ;" ad on Craigslist. Better, really, because at least that wouldn't have cost me nearly $300. EDIT: I contacted Trusted House Sitters after something like 7 phone calls and was told that they would NOT actually cover the damage done to my house even though it was caused by the sitter and I am a premium member to which they heavily advertise that they WILL cover any damage to the house. They also would not ammend reviews or in any other way deal with the damage caused. Even if it's only saying, "beware of this sitter". DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. You honestly would be better off hiring a stranger on Craigslist as it would be free...and you could put the extra $300 towards the cost of repairs.

SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, WE FOUND OUR FLAT TRASHED. So many things were damaged, The freezer was left open, Cat's litter was full and the lead was broken I have no idea how? DO NOT EVEN THINK OF TRYING THIS. The sitter could not even manage to take care of the dog, we had to arrange to send the dog to my elderly parents. I'm absolutely furious. Trusted House Sitters should be responsible but they have asked us to pay £500 then they will cover the damages up to £500! This must be JOKE! #trustedhousesitters

I called TrustedHousesitters because I have been receiving e-mails stating that my profile could be better if I added my pet preferences. But, being conscientious, when I follow the link back to my specific profile the site states all is complete and verified. The Trusted House sitter's agent confirmed that my profile is excellent, her comment that it's one of the best sitter profiles she has seen in a while was very reassuring, as well as the agent's wonderful attitude and compliments about my experience and my photos of past house sits along with the photos of my fury friends was very nice to hear! Evidently, agents like the one I had the pleasure of speaking with today are the reason TrustedHousitters is highly successful and so well-trusted! TrustedHousesitters please Keep up the excellent work behind the scenes and we will ido the same n the field!

TrustedHousesitters is the absolute worst. It provides no protection for its sitters at all. Especially due to Covid, cleanliness is vital but instead these home approved are anything but. With cockroaches, dirty bathrooms, and unsanitary living is an absolute NO. If I am sick due to the living conditions, there is no support at all. I am not a house keeper, if they wanted one they should pay for one; they should charge them double from what I have seen. There is supposed to be an equal exchange during this process, sitters care and protect the pets and host provide a clean and safe place for the sitters. If one breaks the other the contract is void. Sitters have to jump through hoops to get to sit but what about hosts? It’s odd that we cannot review hosts so that sitters can be aware. They like to state that cleanliness is objective or subjective but that is gaslighting, you would not stay at an Airbnb, hotel or eat at a hotel that is unsanitary so why on this good earth would u accept to sleep, eat, and bath in a home that is? I refuse to get sick for anything or anyone, my health is important than anything during this exchange. A complete waste and I will never recommend for anyone. Horrible customer service and support.

After many years of good service, providing flats for travellers, I had a horrible experience with a Trustedhousitters sitter and after communicating with the customer service they even denied me the right to leave this person a review. So sitters reviews we see online are only positive since they find ways to remove negative ones. I do not trust this website anymore and will find alternative solutions.

Honestly such an incredibly cool app!! Totally worth the investment. I work online and came across the app in an ad, applied and I have accommodation until next year March during my stay in the UK. Not only do I have accommodation but I also get to look after cute animals, take them for walks, I am looking after horses on a farm and all in random cute little villages around the country. Honestly such an incredibly cool way to travel the world. I have been remote now for 8 years, I wish I discovered this app sooner. Highly recommended it. Whoever gave the 1* is completely wrong.

Over an extensive period of time, I have witnessed by this platform a serious and persistent lack of transparency, honesty, and accountability.

Only worry with my dog was that he was so happy, he may not have wanted me home!
