No story about Avroy Shlain Cosmetics would be complete without reference to its debut, when the founder, Avroy Shlain himself set off into the market armed with a briefcase of sample skin care products and the courage of his convictions. Avroy had seen examples of successful direct selling companies operating in Australia, and was determined to set up a similar operation in South Africa. Direct selling was a new concept in the local beauty market at the time and by making a few wise business choices, Avroy soon built a thriving skincare business with a rapidly expanding network of distributors.
