The largest custom built Marina on the Vaal Dam. Walk-on Moorings, Boat Lockers and Waterside refuelling.
Bayshore Marina was started in 1990. The vision is to create the most comprehensive and fun filled marina environment close to Johannesburg. The marina took almost three years to build and Mr John Pilling, a mechanical engineer, designed the structure and the facilities. The size was decided upon in conjunction with various marinas in the UK (as they had the knowledge at the time) and construction began. Over 440,000 cubic metres of earth was either moved or used to create the outer walls of the harbour. The marina was commissioned in 1993 and opened itself to the public. During this time the developers had started construction of the adjacent village Sunset Cove, and completed 96 prime houses.
The Marina is the largest, custom built, inland marina where you can refuel by boat, on the Gauteng side of the Vaal Dam.
