To be fair, you really can't ask for a better venue for a day out in Stellenbosch to spend in good company in a wonderful environment. The venue caters for adults with a wide selection in terms of wine tasting as well as for children with the extensive play area. The food is of good quality, but to be honest, the star was the table service staff who nail down the attentive/private service balance perfectly - that alone is worth a star. There is ample parking and the venue also allows people to picnic on their own - which was good to see. On pricing, let's be fair: If you are coming out here, you're not expecting fast food pricing - of course there are generous portions, but on the downside, for this experience, it would be nice if the kitchen could compromise somewhat on the menu customisation. Still, great venue, a bit pricey, but you'll enjoy the experience.
For a fun and child friendly day out you cannot ask for anything better. The Bike track is very good and in excellent condition but above and beyond that the staff are amazing. Kids enjoyed themselves immensely!
On arrival sighting all the cars I thought, o my word not a chance. But was pleasantly surprised at the layout of the venue which was designed to accommodate a large gathering. Enough space and activities to keep the kiddies busy and an interesting variety of all kinds of eats that you can think of. Interesting market and live music sitting under the beautiful trees enjoying whatever your stomach desires. Will definitely return.
Blaauwklippen in Stellenbosch is a lovely wine farm. It has vendors selling various things like clothes, jewellery, sweets, household items and other things that you would get at a more upmarket market. The food stalls selling burgers, shwarmas, savory bites and then there's the sweet things area. A chicken schwarma costs R80 and lamb/steak mixed is R90. A burger is anything from R80 up to about R120. The food is not bad at all. Only gripe I had is that they DO NOT TAKE CASH. So for every transaction you must pay by card...we made six transactions. Burger, shwarmas, iced tea, beer and something from the sweets/dessert area. I understand Covid happened, money safety, etc, etc. But I prefer working with cash...just my opinion. So 6 x bank charges! Just saying. We not all millionaires. There's a lovely kiddies play area too. You can sit on the grass and eat but take something to sit on. Not a bad space for relaxing chilling Sunday afternoon.
This should not be advertised as a craft market - it has become a foodie market instead. A good range of food and beverage stalls with a variety of styles and tastes on offer. However none of the stalls are allowed to take cash - resulting is missed sales opportunities. Good seating areas to sit and chill, eat and drink and listen to the music. However the music provided was poor and certainly did not tempt people to linger longer. This market seems to have lost it's way.
Lovely place. Walk around. Shop. Coffee. Food. Relax. Have a lovely time with friends, family, children in a beautiful setting. Special place for children. Fresh air. Get out. Get there. Enjoy!
It's a good place to go with lots to do for a family. Some food stalls with variety as well as a deli and the wine tastings The market was a bit of a let down as there weren't a lot of stalls. Seating is also a bit of a problem. Lots of parking and nice views all round
Amazing views of the mountains, great picnic area, the kid's love the cycle track. Book your picnic
Amazing vibe The kids Bike entertainment area is a winner very family driven Live music was phenomenal And overall the market is very pleasant Sales was great
A very cute little farm market! We only arrived 1h before it closed so sadly, some of the food stalls had already shut down. The atmosphere was very homely and warm nonetheless and we had some cold drinks on the swing while doing some people watching. Smaller, but also much less hectic than the big market in Cape Town itself. Come here if you have some time :-
