Umatie was started by two sisters, Anna and Judi in 2012. Even though they come from diverse backgrounds, graphic design and accountancy, they have a shared passion... good food!

Coming from a big family who loves cooking and healthy eating, they have always enjoyed spending time in the kitchen.

Eating together as a family is also important to them. It's not always possible with the busy lives we lead, but it's important for children to know how to behave at the table as part of growing up. To see how mommy and daddy eat and behave at the table is vital for a positive association with food.

When Anna's first baby started on solids, she was more than excited to try new recipes for her little one. Seeing her enjoyment of the food, Anna and Judi decided to share these yummy meals with other babies.

They want to say to mommies and daddies that they take great care to ensure their babies get the best to eat and enjoy. Their meals are prepared with dedication and heaps of love.

They believe in healthy living and lots of laughter. Eating is fun and family is everything. They believe in making a difference and saving the planet. They take care of the people and things they love. They are baby friendly and eco friendly. A happy heart is one that gets fed lots of yummy food...

"We’re a baby, kiddie and family foodie brand, based in Cape Town. We also deliver to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth and George. At Umatie, we believe that weaning should be easy, and that littlies should grow to love food right from the start. We source all of our ingredients from local farmers, with meat from free-roaming animals and fruits and veggies that are free from pesticides and nasties. We don’t cut corners in the kitchen and prepare our meals and freeze them to naturally preserve them to stay delicious and nutritious! Our packaging is BPA-free, 100% recyclable and can be used at home again and again. Our nummies are made for hungry tummies from 6+ months all the way into adulthood!"
