I have two children who currently attend the school. The teachers are committed and caring, the standard of education is excellent, and the grounds are lovely. I feel very fortunate to have such an excellent government school close to where we stay.
I visited this school to introduce a coding programme and the teachers were so excited about it. They were excited that it's something that will help the learners understand coding even more. This showed me that they care about the kids and what the kids need in their lives to give them an advantage. I wish most teachers would be like that, have the kids' interests at heart.
I recall with fondness Blairgowrie Primary School, as one of the first intake of pupils from Greenside Primary School when the school first opened in 1959 under Mr Geddes. A wonderful, involved headmaster. I have only excellent memories of my years there. In retrospect I believe we received a first class education. Whilst I was searching the web for photos of the school uniform to show my grandchildren, and to see if there was a "past pupils" website, I sadly found that the website was not very informative. But times were different, not as they are today. I was hoping to find some archived photos when I mailed the school, but haven't received any response as yet. Even the email address is misspelt. I'm delighted to read that the school is still flourishing and hope that it continues to do so for many years to come. I was Sandra Tibbs in those days and now reside in Australia.
Great school, good teachers, can't wait to send my kids there.
