First time at Blu Gel and had excellent service. Many thanks to Vee for styling my hair and to Tegan for being such a wonderful help, they have really great customer service and calmed all my anxieties. Extremely professional and I really enjoyed it.Thank you!

Saying I’m impressed would be an understatement! I had the most amazing experience at BluGel. The service was impeccable and all the staff were such a joy to be around. A special shoutout to Shantal who did the most amazing job with my hair & gave me exactly what I wanted! My hair took hours & so many hands but team work truly makes the dream work at BluGel - they went out of their way to ensure my hair turned out exactly the way I wanted. After 15 years of my mum sister and I being customers at blu gel - I am absolutely disgusted by how we have been treated. On Christmas Eve, my sister and I had appointments and had our hair curled with a hair iron. Understandably this is peak trading times and everyone is under a lot of pressure and time constraints however, we were both left with permanent heat damage because of the high setting of the hair iron. The hair iron was so hot that it burnt the towel I was told the iron was changed - However our hair was left smelling disgusting like wet dog/burnt hair- classic sign of heat damage if you look it up even after washing our hair the smell is STILL there. In calling blu gel to understand why this has happened we were asked to come in where everything from our hormones to our shampoo was blamed without any actual advise on how to fix this or acknowledging that we are unhappy with the service received. We were constantly met with “we don’t understand how this can happen” and yet when we came into the the salon on Christmas Eve our hormones, shampoo choices etc has never caused this kind of damage. I have completely lost my natural curls after one appointment there and to be met with excuses and blame shifting was completely unexpected and disappointing to say the least. If you look up heat damage you will see ends of pin straight hair which is exactly what my hair now looks like. If you look up this kind of smell it is caused by heat damage - we were made to feel as though we were lying for what reason honestly??!! Our only intention was to get help with this - not be met with blame and a clear lack of professionalism . So utterly disappointed!Service: Hairstyling

The first reg flag was bad communication, second when my mum got there she was told her hair could not be done and it was just a consultation. I asked for prices and trading times on Friday, telling them I need my mum to come in for a new hair look as Tuesday is her birthday she is a terminally ill person which is why I need proper care. I was charged R1800 for my mum's hair a total rip off! Lee who I wanted to do her hair had told her R1500 while washing her hair, she video called me at the salon with just a blonde look with a really bad cut to what was expected. When it comes to big events and influencers Blu Gel goes all out to make them look good besides they do work for cansa and I wanted my mum to go to this salon which I trusted unknowingly. Not every client receives their 5 star service and expertise. As my mum has cancer in remission and currently fighting lupus I wanted the best, for her to wake up to on her 50th feeling confident. I am so disappointed in my mum's hair, but most of all the rude behavior by the girl in front Kiara, at reception. She is the worst at communication and was rude and abrupt to my mum talking about my ill manners when they had no manners for my mother. They all for shavathons but treated a terminally ill person so badly.IN MY OPINION IT SHOWS WHAT SOME PEOPLE CAN DO FOR GOOD EXPOSURE. People that pay their money don't get their money's worth but the freebies or collabs as we may call it are done well for their exposure. The owner also needs to learn to treat older people the same way she treats younger client's. I will not recommend this salon to any chronically ill woman, as it just dampens their spirit more.

Way overpriced for simple services. This salin is on the outskirts of PMB and charging Cape Town prices , in fact a little more pricy . Staff are friendly which helps soften the sting of being over charged.

Shantel is the best Head Stylest! Always feel so welcomed by all staff and my Favorite is Barbara. Always walk out there feeling like a million bucks xxx

You are treated amazingly. Tea, coffee and water are available for you during your visit. They're very gentle and take the best care of you and your hair. I've been bleaching my hair with them for the past 8 months and my hair always looks beyond gorgeous and doesn't feel brittle or damaged. They sell salon products which are the best to care for your hair after you get work done on it. There's a lovely outdoor area to sit and enjoy your refreshments or some sun by the pool. Definitely worth it for the entire experience and the quality of hairstyle you're leaving with. Not to mention theee best head massages during your wash!

Great salon. They're well organised and everyone's so friendly. They have great stylists, and the decor is cool. One thing I really liked was that they never tried to sell me any products or treatments, though they have lots available. Every other salon I've been to does that, so it was a welcome change! They offer a very wide range of services, and they have stylists who are really good with little kids.
